I didn’t know what their contacts looked like. Hopefully they can pay Rondo, they’re a good fit
He is going to get backup money in New Orleans. When Jrue Holiday is there, Rondo has absolutely no chance of starting.

this was a year ago, he turned 20 two months ago. so far i love him :D
He hasn't played any college ball, so he is a mystery right now. There was a video of him recently showing range out to the 3-point line.

i read he was a "5 star" prospect in high school, so if he played college ball, could be way out of our range right now. could be a blessing in disguise.

tape looks good, very nice looking jumpshot, athletic as fuck. some things we obviously cant see like freethrows, defense (rim protection, pnr defense, defending guards in isolation on switches), post game, running the floor, 2on2 game, etc. but id take the risk on a Anthony Davis look a like 20 year old mofo

Then again, that draft pick could be used as part of a package to get Deng's contract off of the books. If they can package Deng, this year's and next year's 1st round picks, plus someone like Josh Hart, they MIGHT get someone to take on that contract. If that is possible , then they can sign 2 max guys plus re-sign Randle.

If no, then they will have to waive and stretch Deng's contract. While it will turn 2 years at 18 million per into 5 years at 7.3 million per, it still might not be enough to keep Julius. Unless he takes a 1 year offer to stay with the Lakers, and then becomes unrestricted, and we have his Bird rights.

Thanks Mitch and Jim. You jackasses.

Serge, in playoffs Rondo started at PG. Jru at SG, it actually was a brilliant move because it focused Jru on offense which made him have much more impact. When he doesn't get bogged down by running the offense. Plus Rondo feeds AD quite well in post.

Oh.

In regards to money, my point still stands. They are in cap hell, so Rondo isn't going to get paid with the Pelicans.

The draft is this week? Oh my. I thought it was next week for some reason.
What do you expect the lakers to do this off-season?
I don't want to lose Kuzma, Ingram, Lonzo
Preferably not randle either and I'd like to keep hart around
If we go crazy and get LeBron and another big FA then id still like to keep the first 3 i mentioned

I have no clue as to what to expect. Part of me says to go out and get James and George, even at the cost of Randle. Who knows when you will have 2 talents like that potentially available. As long as neither one of them is via sign and trade.

Part of me says to hang to that cap money for next year. However, the free agent landscape could be very different than what is being projected now.

I understand the impatience of a lot of Laker fans out there. I'm just not built that way. I don't want to see a quick fix. And believe me, a team that has James and George as its top 2 options can be quite a dangerous squad. They would have to convince veterans out there to take less for the chance to play with them. Lebron has convinced others before to do that, so its not out of the realm of possibility that he can do it again

is it that tough to get rid of Deng? i mean, we got rid of Mozgov after all, and got a 20M expiring former allstar in Lopez back + a 1st round pick, and it cost us just Russell. the Bulls for example have tons of cap space and would be way under the cap even when they take Dengs contract. they are in rebuilding and probably arent looking at the 2019 free agent class (they obviously arent getting Klay, Kawhi, Irving or Butler), so tanking for 2 years and attacking 2020 or 2021 is probably their best bet at a successful rebuild. in which case, if i was them, id try to take bad contracts for picks and young players. better that than using the cap space for average players that wont bring you anywhere

Apples and Oranges. When the trade was made with the Nets, it was because the Lakers were looking for max cap space and having a match, salary wise, for Mozgov. Brooklyn, in turn, had no young assets to build around, and no draft picks either. That is why the trade moved so seamlessly. The Nets didn't mind giving up the 27th pick because they were getting the #2 pick in the draft from just two years prior.

It is a whole different ballgame this time around. The Bulls aren't desperate for draft assets, as they have plenty, plus they already have a young core of which to build around.

Gary Payton gives Lonzo his seal of approval. Good enough for me. It's amazing how current and former NBA players say how much they like his game, but he is considered a "bust".

I got 10 bucks says that Lavar gives people Big Baller stock to hype up his son.

:p
I just think that if his name wasn't Lonzo Ball, and he was a 20 year old rookie PG who put up 10/7/7 with nearly 2 steals and 1 block per game, people wouldn't be so quick to label him a bust. He's a bust because he couldn't score? Gary Payton just said it himself today that it took him 2 years to figure out how to score. Jason kidd was never a great scorer. He is never going to be a 20-25ppg guy. But if he averages 16/9/9/2, and plays the type of defense that he showed as a rookie, is that a bust? Hardly.

Yeah I saw him on undisputed, I'd definitely keep Lonzo
He just needs to put in mad work to become better at driving to the basket and fixing that shot/free throw
What he has you can't teach, you can become a better scorer however
