This is actually a great trade for the Lakers.

They shed Mozgov's contract for an exponentially better big man who only has one year left on the deal.

No, I do not like losing Russell, but this all but locks in Ball at #2 unless they trade down, and would give Indiana another 1st round pick to add to #28 and Clarkson or Randle

They will actually have a ton of Cap room next year with Lopez's contract off the books.
:agree:

Would love it if the Cs could get the chance to trade back from 3 with the Kings and pick up Tatum at 5 and Isaac at 10.
Love Josh Jackson at 3 but Tatum is close enough and I think Jon Isaac could be one of the most underrated talents in this draft.

that's a homer smile, if I've ever seen one.

Isaacs wont drop to 10 tho, I doubt it. Guessing Magic at 6 or Wolves at 7 will take him.

btw I still cant believe that Lakers Nets deal happend :D

Its unlikely, but imagine if Rusell develops into a harden unleashed on a weak eastern conference?

Mozgov, why the fuck did you give him that contract to begin with  You wouldnt needed to entice offloading by giving away scoring talent like this to just get back your cap space you shouldnt shitted on to begin with.

such a trade would create a pick for the Cs in the area of the draft where Isaac is projected to go. From 10, they could trade up to say 8 or 7 to get him, if they want.

There is a reason why Lakers traded Russell - he is a good prospect, not Harden-level one though.
Magic literally gave him up to create cap room for next year, that's all you need to know.

I mainly said Harden because like Harden he cant defend for shit

But Russell if he gets focused, can become a top top scorer, not superstar or well rounded, but one of those efficient lights out allstar level scorers in minor team you hate to face.

And yeah it will be corious to see who Magic is planning for besides PG...It should be big, but its also quite the risk to assume superstar who want to win now will come to you.

I mean its confirmed they wanted to trade away 2nd pick too, so who the heck is he planning to draft for point guard if he is playing this loose with his high pick?

Yes, for the 5th and 10th pick, which Sacramento said no.

Magic didn't like his work ethic, or lack thereof

Yeah Dload is lazy as fvck, kinda moves like a fat kid at times, and litterally anyone can get by him. But has high level talent to get somewhere more, good handles/drive and shooting. But legitly get trading him when you have Clarkson, who I see as underrated and defenitely superior player to dloading for me despite the latters big hype.

Question is who will you have to give to get PG? Because, the guy wouldnt want to come if you keep giving away more talents. Then why leave Pacers? Lol.

Who the Lakers have to get PG? Magic and Ingram and probably Ball.
But you are asking the wrong question - it's not so much 'who' they have, it's more about 'what' they have ... and what they have is brand recognition and location.

#27, #28, and either Randle or Clarkson. Lakers won't give up any more than that.

Randle is a starter, why trade him, and Clarkson could be an amazin 6th man (if PG plays shooting guard, if we assume Ingram gets to start at SF despite awful first year). Or if you Randle, you could start Clarkson and PG and play ingram at PF, just stretch 4 catch and shoot aspect of it, he is scrawny as fvck so not much else for PF role. Which is kinda worrisome since Brook can barely defend, tho underrated top scorer IMO.

What about Deng? If they give away Randle in addition to 2 1st rounders, then they have to offload Deng too

Nance is a pretty good defender at the 4 imo. Ingram is skinny but his wingspan is like 7ft so he has the potential to play great defense, needs to bulk up a bit tho. Also, Nwaba off the bench is one tenacious motherfucker and Zubac has some rim protection potential. With the addition of George, we are potentially a top defensive team in a few years with these guys, hopefully Walton can make it work

On other news, Nick Young wont use his player option and will become a free agent this summer. A sad day for all Lakers fans

They don't need to trade Deng. Actually, he may be of use if the Lakers decide to play him at the 4. That is where he was most useful in Miami.
