i think if George is coming here that Magic already knows it. would be stupid if he trades Russell without knowing in advance what the core of the team would look like in a year. and id put George at the 2 as i would not be moving Ingram from the 3
Magic has absolutly no control over what happens to Paul George, unless they trade for him. And he can't know that George is coming. If any info leaks that this is already done, then Lakers are tampering, and say goodbye to that #2 pick, at the very least.

i know he doesent have control, but he can still know if the guy wants to come to LA or not. i bet they had a conversation about this already, and Magic acts on whats been said between them.
point is, he wont trade our 2nd most talented player if he doesent have a plan already, in which said 2nd most talented player doesent fit, and Ball-George-Ingram looks like such plan where D'Angelo doesent fit in to me.

Well youre probably right about that, but i still think they wont trade Russell unless they have a ready made strategy already in place. Im giving Magic the benefit od the doubt on this if he does trade Russell

No idea, to be honest with you at #2. But now I'm hearing rumors that the Lakers and Pacers are talking trade now. What I do know is that it will not involve the #2 pick or Ingram. Everyone else seems to be in play.
Truth be told, I wouldn't have much of an issue with it if it was for Clarkson and the 28th pick. But if they start giving up more than that, I won't be happy at all. Considering his desire to come back home, that would be my ceiling

Probably trying to make sure he doesn't end up with the Cavs, instead. Who knows what might happen if PG were to go there for 2018 - maybe he likes being LBJ's stepping stone and signs a long-term deal.
A player or two and a pick down the road should do it.
I think it is more of a case where they feel they need to.
With that being said, there should be no way that they overpay for him.

Can't take PG to Lakers after 2018 for granted. Lot's of things could happen till then, which is why Magic is probably making sure he doesn't miss his window.
I'd think it would take Russell and a pick to land PG now.

I don't know about multiple picks and whatnot. These days to win, you need to build a super-team of at least 3 star players. Celtics can't afford to blow all of their ammo on just one guy. Would have to weigh the cost vs what it would take to get AD, for example.
If they are smart at how they go about it - picks and possible IT trade - they could have those 3 star players, not just on a rental.
The only untouchables are Ingram and the #2 pick. My take is that I'm not willing to include a 21 year old Combo guard who averaged 15 and 5, and was averaging over 20ppg when moved to off guard, which is where he will be if the Lakers draft a PG this year.

Just one guy? You're talking about a potential 20/12/4/2 player who is still only 21
The Celtics have 7 1st round picks in the next 3 years. What are you going to do with all of them? They have to move some of them.
Not all of those 1st rounders would be seen as valuable enough for a trade for a star player. I'd say 3 of those picks have a very good chance of being top 10, a couple even top 5 but the rest would be good only for make-weight in any potential trades for Davis, Porz, Butler, etc.
This is nothing vs Porz but he alone won't cut it if Cs have to spend all of their most valuable picks on him. Ultimately, assuming they are serious about it, it would come down to cost-effectiveness of Davis vs Porz trades, imo.
With all the commotion around the draft and trades and whatnot, Griffin being let go by the Cavs is going under the radar when it really shouldn't.
With Lebron getting up there in age, and the Cavs in disarray, this could be the moment for the Celtics to make their move(s).
