This is actually a great trade for the Lakers.

They shed Mozgov's contract for an exponentially better big man who only has one year left on the deal.

No, I do not like losing Russell, but this all but locks in Ball at #2 unless they trade down, and would give Indiana another 1st round pick to add to #28 and Clarkson or Randle

They will actually have a ton of Cap room next year with Lopez's contract off the books.

This deal achieves two things for the Lakers:
1) allows them to create cap space for the future - George and possibly LBJ
2) it's Lonzo's team now and Russell would have been in the way

So Lopez contract expires NEXT summer? 2018? No player/club/any other BS options? Then this might be a fantastic deal, but only depending on who we land next summer

Welcome GOATBron @Post Ironic :snoop:

Would be a nice fit - those dried up lakes could sure use all of Bron's tears

Btw, someone named Ramona Shelburne tweeted this:

Lakers had called multiple teams in lottery about acquiring Russell this week. No takers. He becomes the guy who helps them get off Moz $
She talks as if she knows what shes talking about. How reliable is she?

LOL keep dreaming :D

But I would defenitely watch your games if you get Pau George, been a fan since his rookie season. Such a complete player.
Love him too, great on offense and defense, can create plays for himself and others, shoot from andwhere, everything you need from a star player. Lets see how he and Ingram will coexist now

Any projections for who will draft Dennis smith jr? I really want him for Minnesota (hope someone else drafts Isaacs before Wolves pick, so they feel necessary to take PG instead). Would compete with Philly for most talented quartet if Smith jr was added to the core of KAT, Wiggins and Lavine.

Makes sense for him to go from college team called Wolfpack to now Timberwolves :agree:
