Something I just thought about.

If they are serious about this for 2019, then they could also acquire players whose contracts expire at the end of next season in order to obtain 1st round draft picks.

If there are teams that insist on shedding contracts that expire in 2019, then you have to sweeten the deals for the Lakers to accept it

If they have to trade somebody, I would rather it be Clarkson than Randle.

Clarkson is instant offense, but Randle is an athletic freak at his size and height. He's not afraid to get down low. Guards are a little easier to find.

And no sooner do I say this, reports form Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowksi are stating that the Lakers are now concentrating on the 2019 Free Agent class instead of this year.

I think Magic and Pelinka are starting to realize that the costs of trying to get 2 max players this year may not be worth the two pieces they would have to give up (Clarkson and Randle)
I've always liked randle, he could be really important in a competitive team
He's energy off the bench
Clarkson is good but you can get cheap instant offense players

Phoenix Suns are the worst NBA team I have ever seen.
Spurs 97-50 Suns at the end of the 3rd. They just don't give a fuck.

The tanking wars has begun  Suns allways tank hard but draft horribly (except for Booker) and trade horribly too. Joke of an organisation.

NBA, only league where YOU GET REWARDED for sucking the most  Hawks, Suns, Magic, Kings and Bulls, its tanking season baby :tuttosport: (Nets and Lakers dont count since they dont have their picks) I would mention Mavs too as prime candidate, but Carlisle is legit trying to win games, his roster is just that bad haha.

I expect unicornless Knicks to slowly sink next to them

Holy shit you guys need to watch Cavs - Wolves, instant classic with some amazing plays. I'm watching it delayed, on OT right now with minute left, lots of season highs or franchise records in this one (Kat has 10 3s in a row being one of them).

Clarkson and Nance to the Cavaliers. Don't know what the Lakers got in return

- - - Updated - - -

Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and apparently Cleveland's 1st round pick to the Lakers.

Wow
@Osman @Salvo @zizinho

Wait. I just thought of something.

Dan Gilbert, in the span of less than a year, turned Kyrie Irving into Jordan CLarkson AND had to give up their 1st roudn pick to do it

- - - Updated - - -

So wait. Wait wait wait. There's more.

The Lakers just got 15 million off of their books, and got a 1st round pick to do it as well.

Is Gilbert a moron? I like Clarkson, but wtf? You do this deal for Kemba Walker not for fucking Clarkson...
If they use the stretch provision clause on Deng after this year, they have now opened up 2 max slots for either 2018 or 2019. What I am hoping for is that it is for 2019.

Klay and Kawhi on the Lakers in 2019? With Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Randle, and Hart? Could it happen? And given the Lakers track record of drafting with low 1st round picks lately, whomever they get this year in the draft could turn out to be a good player as well.

Sorry but I can't get why Cavs did this. Nance they need, but wtf, do this package for Kemba or something, not this mess. Lakers don't even get bad contracts just rentals.

And a 1st round pick.

And now here is something else to think about. If they can trade Deng and attach that 1st round pick that they just got from Cleveland, they could potentially open up 3 Max Slots.

And to those Celtics fans out there who are somehow convinced that this means the Lakers will slide back into the #2-#5 range in the draft. Thomas and Frye both do something better than what Clarkson does. Something they have desperately needed. 3 point shooting. The Lakers only get marginally worse, but they are currently have the 9th worst record in the league, and they have more talent than the 8 below them.

The Cavs just got Rodney Hood and George Hill. It was a 3 way deal. I have no idea who went where.

- - - Updated - - -

And now they are trading D Wade back to Miami.

What the hell is going on

- - - Updated - - -

Shumpert, Rose, Crowder, Frye, Thomas, and Wade, 2018 first round pick are all gone from the Cavaliers.

Hood, Hill, Clarkson, and Nance are in

Actually Cavs wins this 3 team trade. They get considerable upgrade from chump ass Crowder to a younger and better Hood and George Hill is type of excellent 3&D solid PG a contender needs over a broken Rose.

Wtf was SAC and Utah thinking in this trade?
