Bar 2 or 3, all SG don't give up size on other shooting guards, and some of defend or at least can stay with their man ( Smith, Redick, fournier, Rodney hood, MKW....)
And they you have great defensive SG like ( Green, Allen, Klay, KCP...)
I don't think it's a good idea to play DAR as a SG, maybe bring him off the bench as a 6th man.
regardless of the fact that when he was moved to the SG position he was putting up over 20 a game per 36 minutes?

This is from an article when he was tried at SG.

"In eight games starting at shooting guard alongside Clarkson, Russell has posted impressive per-36 minute numbers of 20.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals while hitting 2.7 threes per game. His steals and assists dropped slightly compared to when he was the lone ball-handler but so has his usage rate and turnovers.

Meanwhile, his scoring efficiency has improved. Russell has the ball in his hands less, yet is actually scoring more than ever before.

He’s finding ways to pop free for open looks or sniffing out seams in the defense to slither into the paint, where he’s finishing at a 63 percent clip, a big jump from the 52 percent he was converting as a point guard. Attacking from the wing has certainly made a difference in that regard, as has the threat of Clarkson’s slippery cuts to the basket when Russell has the ball in his hands."

Lonzo Ball looked out of shape at Lakers workout (OC Register)

What is a OC Register?
One-on-none are some of the toughest workouts you can do in basketball. You are basically running non-stop for an hour. Besides, he didn't look out of shape at UCLA, and a recent photo of him at the workout showed him with a 6-pack. I'd kill to be that out of shape.

Klay Thompson is an awful defender  One of the worst rated SG's out there for defensive metrics.

And De'Angelo is 6'5". Let's not make him out to be a midget.

How the fuck does it makes sense to say Klay is an awful defender???

Age: 26

2016-17 Per-Game Stats: 21.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.4 blocks

Advanced Metrics: 15.7 PER, Minus-30.1 TPA, 1.35 RPM

Klay Thompson's defense remains an enigma.

Though he often passes the eye test with a penchant for guarding the opposition's strongest wing or guard, no advanced metrics will agree.

ESPN.com's DRPM ranks him as the No. 63 defensive 2-guard, directly between Bryn Forbes and E'Twaun Moore. NBA Math's DPS has him as one of the league's 10 least valuable defenders, regardless of position. This time, he's sandwiched between Lou Williams and Eric Gordon.

But regardless of how you assess his defense, his offense is indisputably excellent.

@Osman, I'm not going to just pull something out of my ass to make a point.

I dont really bother too much with stats (american sports are really insane about them). But my guess is that probably is based on overall defending and bigger picture (giving that too much importance in calling him awful), he is bit lazy off ball defending, or keeping team shape/going for boards/loose balls, but ON BALL he is one of the best for sure. He locks people down when he is on them. And thats defenitely beyond invaluable, as we seen it happen on playoffs, he allways guards the best guard on opposing team and does extremely splendid job sticking on them like glue. He makes Irving resort to insanely impossible break neck drives etc. In game 1 or 2 pretty much everyone who faced him shot bricks because of his hyper denial on ball defense.

I'm not saying he is great, but he is defenitely NOT awful at all simply because his on ball defending is an asset. His offensive is his best quality, but GSW are dominating exactly because they have two way players like him and Green, and because KD learned to do it all. Cavs could defenitely use having two way approach like GSW has in their key players, who are just invaluable role players besides offensive ability. Curry is pretty much only one who just one trick pony in his approach.

Serge I just saw your edits. I guessed as much, but IMO that says enough about what defensive stats value, instead of what actual impact or use a players type of defending has on a team. Klay is proven asset in playoffs to win championships not only for making it rain 3s (or driving to basket) but because he has done a fantastic job defending his opponents. Thats why we seen him have completely cold shooting nights in playoff games but still hold his own for the team.

So 100% disagree with any notion of calling him awful defender in overall regardless of what some advanced stats say.

Terrible FT shooter (Tristan) fouled, non shooting foul. Take the ball out again, bring it to a good FT shooter (Love), 2 FTs

Conspiracies that this is rigged for the Cavs?

Free throws 18-9 in favour of the Warriors.

Pro sports aren't rigged at all. It's such nonsense that people spout to justify this or that team or player not being that good.

Been listening to this idiocy about both Lebron and Crosby for the last 5+ years and it's such rubbish.
