not a fan of his?
He's going to be 34 years old, earns 18 million, and is a free agent after this season.

Has nothing to do with whether I am a fan of his or not.

The Lakers need to rebuild for the future., and he is one of the only pieces that they can use to obtain assets to do so

I wouldn't say cold blooded, it's just that the Lakers have no future right now, and the only young player they have that is worth a damn was picked up from the D-League last month.

As a fan of thLakers it is really bleak right now, and if they can move him for some pieces for the future, I'm all for it.

As far as Centers go, there are some good young ones, but none that are available for trade.

Demarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond are a couple of them

Man, Sixers fans feel like that every year. The one glimmer of hope we may get is extinguished like 10 games into the season.

Yeah, but you have Michael Carter Williams, whom I adore, and you'll have a healthy Nerlens Noel next year to anchor the defense, as well as a top pick this year. If they can get a Julius Randle in the draft to go with those two, that is a serious building block for the future.

The Lakers have Kendall Marshall.

And that's it.

If you don't count a 36 year old Kobe bryant and 25-30 million in cap space that they probably won't use much of this year.

Yeah, the Lakers are worse this year but at least you guys had a really good run before :D

I'm hoping we get Wiggins :weee: Not gonna happen though, apparently we don't even know how to lose games.

They went to the Finals last year and they might repeat seeing how weak the West looks. So yeah, I'd say they're still strong. Not a strong as their heyday or strong enough to win another ring however.

other than the Thunder, the other teamas don't convince me :D

now compare that to the Heat and Pacers. The Rockets are a good team but I don't see them making a deep run or anything.
Did it ever occur to you that the reason why the Heat and Pacers have such good records is because they play in the East?

And are you forgetting about Portland and the Clippers? The Clippers are doing this without Chris Paul, and Portland is one of, if not the best young team in the league.

That's a good point. But I guess I was thinking about it in terms of teams that can win the Finals and I'm pretty sure it will be the Heat yet again. Also I wasn't trying ot imply that the West was weaker than the East by that although I can see it sounded like that :D

since Jordan left the west was always better than the east... the east eventualy had one top contender (pistons -> celtics -> heat) but the rest couldnt compare to the top west teams...

the clippers are overrated, last season too people raved about them as if they were actual title challengers. besides i don't rate doc rivers as a coach. For me the Rockets are one of the most complete sides this season i think they will surprise many in the play offs

Wiggins went to high school in WV.

I like Marcus Smart better. Gonna be a sick PG for whoever gets him in the draft.
