2002/03 UEFA Cup semifinals
FC Porto -SS Lazio 4-1 0-0

I believe Mourinho was Porto's coach in their UEFA Cup winning season 2002/03. In CL his teams never played against an Italian team.

I remember that match against Lazio , they didn't know what hit them honestly, Deco was by far player of the match.

Isnt choosing Inter 'Un Mourinho like' though?I always thought he'd pick a team that was not domianting a league, and then transform them into a very big threat.Juventus would have fit the defination perfectly. But oh well, from an unbiased point of view,Mourinho at Inter is definatley a scary thought. With Ranier's track record of press statements....not good..:scared:
Eh Mourinho only coaches teams that have significant cash flow for their respective leagues. He likes to have "full control", the ability to buy players he wants, etc. He wouldn't have had that at Juve.

I hate Mourinho and I hate Inter, this is perfect ! :weee:

Too bad I like the guy.

Now let's just hope that Mourinho will have a big argument with Moratti cunt and he will leave Inter ASAP or we are fucked pretty much.
It's guaranteed. I give it four months into the season before Mourinho makes some snyde, backhanded, veiled insult insinuating Moratti's idiocy.

And hey -- anybody who eliminates ManU from the CL can't be all bad. :xmas:

so when will he start making excuses for his team's failures and highlight that Juve or Milan are actually cheaters that stole titles from his beloved Inter ?

Tbh i never cared for the guy and i dont see in him what a lot of people do. But i find him mildly amusing ( that shit with Wenger was really funny)
I thought I am the only one

Make that three :D , never thought he's that great......He's good for sure but nothing special......

Make that 4.

Mourinho is a football genius and is one of the nicest people in the game. I'm sure that the less gifted among us fail to see what Mourinho is really about and get hung up about his so called arrogance though. Too bad he had to choose Inter.
I'm giving it 3 months before you change your mind.

Mourinho is definitely a good manager. But he does enjoy the benefits of wealthy clubs.
well he did take Porto from being a make-up-the-numbers, quarterfinal-at-best club to a CL-winning team so one has to give him credit for that...and many modern day managers have been lauded for leading the biggest and richest teams to success (Lippi or Ferguson), so I don't think we can really hold that against him

Well Porto was the richest or top two richest Portugese clubs at the time. But yeah, you can't really knock him. I just hate when people act like he took Cardiff City to the CL final.

It all depend on us and Milan, I still don't trust in Ranieri, he still didn't convince me that he can win, as for Milan, they really need to buy good players, and not spend their whole budget on a one big star, that won't help them. If these two teams don't get much stronger, then Mourinho won't have any difficulty to win the scudetto (well, If Mancini did, I guess he can..). But the big test is the CL, Inter has everything to win it, let's see if he will fail it again like he did with Chelsea.

He was seconds away from getting eliminated by Manchester United at the second stage or quarter final that same year, but a lucky last minute goal helped him, don't forget that Monaco did the same, reaching the final, but had a very very bad day against Porto in the final, now would you all rate Deschamps highly if his players weren't on a very bad form that day and if they could win it? Sure he deserves the credit, but you all are giving him more than he deserves, you all are treating him like he is the best ever manager. Benitez career is much better than his, but no one is making him God, maybe because Benitez likes to do his job on the pitch, and not by begging for attention with acting like a clown front of media, or attacking other teams, coaches or players..
