seriously though, IMHO. im not saying that the SPL is bad or anything, but they wont be taken nearly as seriously as other major leagues unless they produce some super-star quality players....

oh yeah....add a strong all-round team, competitive league, some investment, and determined people at the club to go somewhere in the CL/Uefa cup.

I think they'll do it....I have great respect for the Scots...

I agree with a lot of what you say. It's not easy doing all you list with a pop of under 5 mil though. The problem is too many teams. If we had two divisions of twelve teams the resources would be focused better. However...noone wants the teams to fall by the wayside to be theirs. Understanable

yeah....IMO the best way for the scots to go about doing their job is investing in youth. i've said it before and i'll say it again:

Youth are by far the biggest, most valuable and most appreciatable assets any team can have.

you dont need to spend millions on them, but at least one out of 10 will go for 5 million or more, bringing in a lot of return.

or you could keep them...its a lot better to have to bring someone up from the youth team than to have him bought for a couple million.

he doesnt need to learn the language, or get used to the club. he will be more loyal, and will possibly stay a lot longer....

All true of course. Can't argue with any issues here. But we just can't seem to get the youngsters away from the PC and playstation.:frown:
