Janna inadvertently illustrates the absurdities of the English language. She makes me question things I take for granted in the language, so it's not just me laughing at her trying to struggle with it. The humor is also in seeing how an outsider tries to come to grasp with its arcane rules and bylaws.

Indeed, and really, compared to Dutch or German, English is a piece of cake.
Janna, keep trying, once your English improves, you'll only look back in shame to these first months here and laugh with what ou posted here, just keep trying, you'll see the improvement rapidly, English isn't so difficult.
