You lot automatically think people who buy Macs are blinded imbeciles. I find it a joke people care so much about what products people buy and actually have some sort of movement against it.
I didn't call Greg an imbecile, did I? He's a Mac user. I think some people have good reasons for what they do, and some don't. As with everything. Are you actually denying that marketing is making millions of people buy stuff and establish brand loyalties that are completely vacuous?
Do you not see the irony that you are one of the loudest haters of various things around here and yet you're so unhinged about anti-Mac talk?
I understand that, and i know bother are PERSONAL COMPUTERS, it is just that some PC's are using a Windows operating system, so they are WIndows OS based, or Windows based.

You can run Windows on "a Mac" and you can run Mac OS on "a PC". Ie. there's no difference.
Saying "Windows based" implies that the machine is somehow tied to Windows, which it isn't. You can put a banana on a table and it's not "table based".

Football is different from a computer, Martin. Unless you work for one of Apple's competitors, I find it silly you seem to care so much about this issue.
Both. And they are separate issues. The marketing thing is quite trivial, and therefore easy to get on board with. The other stuff is a lot more serious.

Football teams, Glenn Beck, local sports teams, it's like you have something new every week. And I don't criticize you for it, do I? If anything, it adds color.

So you're on a football forum saying it's silly anyone would care so much about a computer company. Do you want me to go on a computer forum ask if the people there find it silly that anyone would care about a football club? Because I think I could swing that.

"Windows based PC" is not the vernacular around the world, if it were I think I would know. People just say "Windows" because it's clear what it means and it's accurate.
the way i see this, as an informed consumer i found out that i could get similar product to a Mac, have it do the same thing or more at only a fraction of the cost. now if martin goes out and calls most mac users uniformed consumers (read: idiots) then those who informed themselves shouldn't feel threatened

you can't go out and compare a $500 laptop that runs windows/linux to a $1500 one that runs mac. what apple did, through their advertising is convince people that the extra $1000 was worth it
Exactly, it's much easier to just say "you're fat", which is what this thread is all about. And look at how many posts it has compared to that one, which actually explains a serious problem.
