An Israeli telling me to open my mind!!!

My dear, the claimed peace process was based on "Lands For Peace"...

Where is the land that you gave to Palestinians that they have to give you the peace in lieu of??

Do you want me to forget about the political and the economic reasons that force me to hate that country??

What are you ready to provide me as a compensation??

You want to live in my house without even hearing my voice in the neighbour countries...

And please don't tell me that you buy from your Arab neigbours, just to spread peace...

It's just because you want to get much cheaper goods & services, so it is a mutual benefit, and not a charity that you give to those who provide you with them...
Where's the land? Interesting... I thought you got your land (at least part of it) back after the disengagement program... Now where's the peace?
Even now, after the recent truce agreements, the Palestinians kept firing the kasams... Not all of them, I don't want to generalize, but some of the militant organizations.

Why do you keep asking what are we ready to provide you? Have you asked yourself what are YOU ready to provide us?

Your house? I don't even want to go there... (that discussion, I mean)

And I didn't say that I "buy from my Arab neigbours, just to spread peace" - all I said was that claiming that Israelis don't buy anything from arabs just because we don't want to to give them (arabs) any money is (pardon my french) such a BS.

Now how about the questions I asked you? Are you gonna keep dodging answering them or will you finally provide an answer? What's it gonna be, cous'?

Actually, we have more than 2 parties. Vast majority of them is against war.
Most of jews don't want war. Now I don't know how about Lebanon, but I assume that most of the Lebanese people don't want war as well.

:agree: i'm with you rebel, i only eat at taco bell cuz its cheap, in reality i hate mexicans:p :p

honestly i hope this thread isn't a mini-war in the making on this site. i know that ppl feel strongly about these issues but remember that a good debate ends with a mutual hand shake.:toast:
To end a debate with a mutual hand shake a certain agreement between the two sides has to be reached. In order to achieve it there has to be some sort of a clean debate, some sort of mutual understandings.
Now I can't speak for my fellow debater here, only for myself, and I have to say that I, personally, ready to listen, to learn, to discuss, to tell my side of the story, to listen to the other side and, eventually, to reach some sort of understanding and to shake hands.
After that has been said, I guess the ball now is on the other side...

war is the product of bad politics... bad decisions... whether they be hasty, ignorant, or just down right suicidal..

the only was i see peace coming to that region of the world.. is in a couple more hundred years... this generation should plant the seeds of peace.. and pray that our kids are mature enough to live together without out scripting the Quran or Torah into a justification to kill in mass numbers.

am i ahead of my time?

time will tell

Nasrallah is gonna make a statement today at 8.30. Supposedly he has something VERY big to say. there are also rumors that the protesters will infiltrate the Grand Serail on Sunday.
Can this get any worse????
I just listened to his speech...

The positive thing is that he repeated several times that he's no where looking for another Iraq meaning no Shiia Vs Sunni. Thats something good. Hopefully his supporters can apply that.

The negative thing is that he keeps on accusing our Prime minister Sanyoura with several things, when In-fact he can't understand the fact that Sanyoura is the one who stopped this war.

That's the point, he does not want to stop the war.

After Nasrallah's mind-blowing speech, you are still convinced he wants war, to bring Syria back, to create sectarian divide, to takeover Lebanon, to creat Shi'a-estan..........

Guys please grow up, open your eyes. He repeated it a hundred times - dammit he even said I will bow down to a righteous Sunni leader if he was honest and fair.

He said I will not point my guns toward a single Lebanese. Our bullets will not even be shot at the sky. The only direction our bullets are going in...to the chests of our enemies, the Zionists.

He also mentioned that some (unnamed) PROMINENT Lebanese politicians (that was the big thing Stripper was mentioning) had collaborated with the USA to give the green light to Israel to bomb the f*ck out of Lebanon INDEFINITELY until Hezballah are completely destroyed.

He was *this* close to mentioning the names....but he didn't because he doesn't want to start a civil war. Alot of talk is that it was Samir Geagea and Walid Jounblatt.

He completed his speech by announcing a Friday prayer to the Muslims of the demonstrators...and that will be led by a SUNNI cleric, and he even told the Shi'a Muslims to pray according to the SUNNI timing, and just make an exception for one day. (as a Shi'a myself, I'm not too familiar with the Shi'a timing...usually Shi'a pray 3 times a day instead if 5 because you are allowed to "combine" prayers in a certain order)

I don't know what else to say about Sayid Hassan Nasrallah...speechless.

Oh and one more thing, I'm glad he finally made such a passionate rally, because as you can see from my earlier posts - I was getting the impression that the demonstrations were becoming a joke and a waste of time.

It's passion like this that leads a true revolution. This is what the protests were missing, and I hope he's knocked some sense into these protestors heads i.e. You're not down here because I told you so, but for a valid reason.

He accused Sanyoura with lot of dangerous things....one of them giving the green light for Israel to bomb Lebanon, which is not true at all.

The funny thing is that Nabih Berre during the war kept praising sanyoura and stated that the war wouldn't have stopped without Sanyoura.

It's amazing how you immediatly point your fingers at Samir and Walid Beck....

And the funny thing is as if Olmert and Bush are waiting Samir's phone call to tell them wether to bomb Lebanon or not. Riiiiight, worlds strongest country in the world was waiting for Walid's beck msg to tell them when to bomb Leb:rolleyes:

    Cheers for the complimetns :)

So, he would bow down for a Sunni leader but the leader has to be of his standards. Great. Would he bow down for Michel Aoun? Because I think he will. What an honest and fair man Michel Aoun is.

That's exactly what we don't want. Neither bullets on the Lebanese nor the Israelis, what he does not understand is that people want peace and he wants war, with Israel with whoever, he wants war and his speeches are just to agitate people for war.

I can say one thing about Hassan Nassralla, he's a charismatic person that can win the hearts of the simple minded by using words and tricks to agitate them. His purpose is to make war and let people follow him for war just to keep Iran and Syria happy. And who else but out biggest warhead Michel Aoun is there to ally with?

So you want a revolution? A moment ago you said that he does not want to fire a single bullet on any Lebanese, how are you (that is plural) planning to make the revolution?

He didn't mention names to prove that he's not out there to seek revenge. He is not a hypocrite, and he does not want to fuel any more divides between the Lebanese people.

But noooooooooooo, we like to be conspiracy theorists and say he's working for Syria and Iran.

It's about time he woke these people up ya 3amme, keno a3din mabsoutin, he was clearly pissed off coz he had alot on his mind.

And Rabea, it's not about Geagea and Jounblatt calling up George Bush [EDIT], but since Condoleeza Rice (and our cabinet members as well) relied on heavy "shuttle diplomacy" to try and end this war, it is inevitable that one's ideas were able to influence the other. The congress will see what the leaders are interested in, and see which decision benefits them the most.

Ya3ni obviously it's not as simple as Bush naatir telefon min Walid wu Geagea  :wallbang:

Didn't you listen to the speech?

The Islamic resistance is not only victorious on the battlefield, but is also victorious in DIALOGUE.

(loosely translated one of his closing statements)

He addresses the crowd with RESPECT and NOBILITY!

"YA ASHRAF AL NAAS, YA A3ZAM AL NAAS!"

"O HONORABLE PEOPLE, O MAGNIFICENT PEOPLE!"

How can you not be proud when your own Lebanese countryman addresses you as such. :touched:

Good night, YA ASHRAF AL NAAS, YA A3ZAM AL NAAS!
