It's not. A cool-down has been scientifically proven to be useless. I read it in one of my nation's best sporting magazines.

A warming-up, however, is VITAL.

Yeah I read something about it.
    And I always warm up....
But lets say that I want to become more flexibel. How long and how many times should I do every excercise??
    Appreciated:)

Depends on the sport and what you're about to do afterwards. You should really consult a coach or summat.

Oh, try a swimming coach. They got the best tips cause at swimming you use all your muscles.

Cuz I play football, and I have never been streching out. But in the last two months I ahve been streching out regulary and I am much much more flexible now. And one of my biggest questions is as follows: The day after I have streched out, feels my muscles allitle "hard", but when I have had a workout I'm fine and my muscles is flexible again. Is that normal that you're muscles will be "harder" the day afterwards?? With harder I don't mean that I'm all stiff or something but my muscles is not as flexible as when I am warmed up....

It is very important to strech out after any kind of exercise or physical activity because when streched out muscles r recovering faster and the risk of injury is lower.

yes, of course. But is it important to stretch? That depends how your muscles react to the workout. I never stretch and I never have problems with it. If you work out the next day and you warm up, youre muscles will be back to normal again, more or less. One time I was really aching after playing basketball for like 4 hours and I did some stretching before bed. But Ive also known people who play soccer in a club several times a week and never stretch.

Depends entirely on your muscular structure and stage of development. Personally if I don't stretch thoroughly all my leg muscles thoroughly before a treadmill session, or football match I am guaranteed to pull at least one sometimes two or three muscles. Thats only before though.. I never cool down after football though I do cool down on the treadmill - either way I don't think it has much effect, on me at least.
