But I don't think we are planning to use De Ceglie as a left back though.
Then his future in Juve will be bleak, backup at best.

But dont be too sure, they just getting him familiar with the team and gain experience, doubt they are playing his position to be LW permanently. Doubt it very much.

Sure. U know i have a gift. I can see pipols future. Therefor I can see if a footballer has talent enough to fit in Juves greatness. And my sixth sense tells me that Drenthe does not have the right abilities to go along with Juve. He lacks something. Its hard to put a finger to it, but it could the Madrid-spirit.

Ok Jack I might not seem too convincing here, its just that I really dont think hes the right guy.:) I honestly dont think hes good enough.

This coming from a Molinaro fan.

I hope you're right.

Somehow I see De Ceglie more capable attacking, since he's not clumsy and his crosses are sweet and also I see Ranieri keeps prefering Molinaro.

According to reports in Italy(source: tuttomercatoweb), Napoli is close to signing Subotic. This would be yet another nice piece of business by Marino. This man is the best transfer guru in Europe IMO.

yeah, the thing that it seems that the deal is already sealed without anyone noticing is nice.

i do not want to talk marinos skills as transfer guru down, but he has a advantage over secco and co.

a club like napoli is not so well monitored and written about that you would instanlty read it in papers when marino is in germany for example.

a club like napoli have nothing to lose, so they can give young shots a chance. nobody expects them to mount a serious challenge on the scudetto or anything. so everything they achieve is seen as success.

napoli have a inferior squad, so it is easier to enhance and strengthen it.

if marino can bring someone that is an instant hit and would have a starting role in a squad like juve, than you can really compare him with the best

so don't get me wrong ... i am not saying secco is better. i am just saying marinos job is the easier one ... surely i would like to see him do our transfer business, but i think it would be a huge difference for marino to be a juve transfer guru.

it is not like he can go to clubs now and say "see, we are a small club and want to have this or that player".

the clubs that own the players will certainly demand lower fees, because they will think that a club like napoli has not the money to overpay players...

when secco asks for the same player, the club could say "hey, come on. you are juventus ... don't tell me you can not afford to pay 10m € for him!"

another factor could be, that noone in europe will ever see napoli is direct or indirect competitor for anything.

just my thoughts about what was if he was in a big club.

Lets cut the crap and lets sign Ribery.
So many problems will be solved with only one single purchase.

Sell everything. Sell Iaquinta, Tiago, Almiron, Lanzafame, Cobolli's house, Secco's car, Blanc's dog, add 30m and do something unexpected.

i don't think we get him, even if we put "Stuntman Mike" on top of that ...
if bayern does rely on one player, that it is scarface
I'm 100% sure that we can't get him and it's so unfair.
He's exactly what we miss. He can cover the left side and he has the potential to be exactly what Nedved was to us in 2003. He can dribble, pass, he's got pace, he's got strenght, very good shot. With Ribery you get both power and creativity. And on top of it, he's got the potential to be a leader and do something special when nothing else works. Just like Neddy used to do in the past.

Damn! :frown:

Drenthe played one good youth tournament(which is already a few years ago) and that's all he has shown so far. He's been very poor for Real Madrid. Also, he's among the biggest idiots ever to walk the earth.
that tournament was 2 years ago and you can't really judge his performances for madrid because he was never called up for most of his first season (kinda like Giovinco not getting playing time here). Now he is playing more often and showing he is one of the best players on their team at the moment. Plus he is 21 years old, he has all the natural talent he just needs to refine it and make better decisions on and off the pitch.

I would take Drenthe over almost any attacking player we have been linked with that I can think of.

buying players from Munich is such drama .. Karl Heinze Rummenegg Keyser Söze comes out crying about how we are evil and how he can't keep his players/wife or whatever. It get very awkward when grown German men get all emotional and wussy. They will prob charge us 50 million pounds then tell us we are mafia and that they think Sissoko is the devil or something. They are total boners.

We should go for Drenthe .. he would be cheaper and is an awesome player.

I see a Secco style transfer. Tiago + 6m to Atletico-Madrid for Simao. We play with Simao for a couple of years and hope Yago or another kid we have grown into the system makes it. I don't see us splash the cash for a big name outside Italy.

If that's your definition of fun :mute:
What can i say? i have strange urges

Drenthe? What about his crossing ability? Good? Bad? Decent?
Bad.

My comparison didn't stem from comparing two similar players but from the fact that if we are to buy one player I'd take Drenthe. I feel he fits our system more and him being non proven is not a criteria I usually look at. Not every proven player succeeds anyway and many non proven players became stars.
This i definitely agree with. VDV is obviously the better player, but thats not all that matters. Drenthe would fit your system more. And he'd probably come cheaper :agree:

fyi ... our possible fifth our fourth striker (olic) just scored a brace against aston villa in uefa cup
A second string aston villa team may i add.

He's not one of their best players as of yet, in fact he is having a decent season not more. Most of the Real fans i know want to see the back of him actually.
