It's disgusting how overrated Arsenal's players are in these forums.

Their brightest stars were average before and after they played for Arsenal. What makes you think that their squad players will be any better?

Now i hear that Clichy is the best LB in the world? :dielaugh:
What's next? Bendtner is better than Amauri?
Nah, Alen. You took his perception the wrong way perhaps, he's just trying to say Clichy is one of the best full-backs (which is true) and has great qualities such as speed, crossing, aggression, and tackling. Clichy is easily in the the bracket of top 5 left-backs in the world, in my un-biased opinion. And don't get me started on Bendtner :D

hell i wouldn't mind jankulovski if it was possible. possibly kaladze for left back. clichy, i dont mind, i know he's having a bad year, but as are most at arsenal, at least he would fit into the system more than molinaro does

Is it possible that we are looking to sign Gallas as a full back?

8m is pretty fair for him, though I would like it to be a loan with an option to buy in the summer.

No offense to moli lovers but i think that molinaro is the worst LB that plays in any top team in europe. The only thing that i like about him is he's pace and stamina, other than that he's got nothing.......

Van Persie is more talented and skillfull, but he is too inconsistent for my taste to truly showcase ones for all that he is a top class player. He definitely has a higher ceiling then Ade, but he needs to have a breakthrough season like Ade had last season, instead of the limbo he is in his career. He isnt young anymore, so he should step up big time. I expect more from him then Ade to say the least, but his only hindrance hasnt been injuries, he is too inconsistent for my taste.

His incosistency breeds from him being injured too much imo. When not injured he is fairly consistent. I just think his finishing can improve a bit more.

I wouldn't go that far. But are you saying Clichy is a squad player?? because then i'd conclude that you don't watch us play at all.

Clichy was our most consistent player last season, even more consistent than Fabregas and Adebayor. And how did you conclude he was average before he joined us, he never played professionally for anyone else.

All due respect, but your post didn't make any sense at all.
Hmm, by squad player i didn't mean a reserve. More like someone who's not one of the stars in the team, as Henry, Vieira, Pires or Ljungberg were in the past.

And Arsenal's players are indeed overrated here. Gallas and Fabregas are, as the Italians say, Campioni, about Adebayor and Toure i'm undecided if they're at that level or not, but all the others are nothing special and they can easily be forgotten and dropped on the bench the moment they leave Arsenal.

Players like Van Persie or Nasri are very talented but imho they'll never be BIG, while guys like Clichy, Sagna, Denilson, Walcott, Eboue and Almunia are nothing more than guys who fit that particular system and football style and will easily flop when they leave Arsenal.

Dude is moody whiner, and why would we sign him to play in the position he hates and whined about the most? He is defenitely to be signed as CB, and I would welcome that signing, because he is better then Legro.

And for those mentionning age, remember the age we signed the Parmalat CBs.

at the start of the season i tried to count how many of his crosses would actually pass the first defender, i lost count after the 4th match day

Alen, Toure is a decent player and I don't think Eboue or Clichy would flop if they go to another team. They're not that bad.

Sagna, Denilson, WALCOTT (especially), et cetera, are indeed overrated.

Wasn't Flamini your most consistent player?
The same Flamini who's looking more and more like a flop in Milan?

And how did you conclude he was average before he joined us, he never played professionally for anyone else.
Not Clichy.
I was talking about your best players from the past. They were never as good as they were in Arsenal. Not before they joined your team and not after they left.
