Tbh, I would prefer schweinsteiger for free to cover for camo. At least we could make some money off of marchionni and get someone for free and hopefully with some good performances maybe even sell schweiny later for a nice price. Obviously the germans on here don't rate him highly and I trust that because I have german friends/family that would say the same but wouldn't he be a better option than marchionni?

This is a long shot and probably a really bad example but cannavaro sucked at inter and excelled in a juve jersey...maybe all schweiny needs is a new atmosphere with a team that has confidence in him.

Anyways, financially doesn't it make sense to get him for free to reinforce the mid or do you all think he is comparable to marchionni (whom I personally don't rate highly)? And sell marchionni? We need all the money we can get to reinforce our team so.....what doesn't make sense? Who would be a better backup for camo...who knows maybe he would play great and for a non existent pricetag I say go for it b/c we could always sell him right?

for free schweinsteiger is ok, but please do not expect more of him than from marchionni ... in fact marchionni did pretty well at the end of last season where he cooly dribbled past 2 defenders and slotted in like a pro ! if he would regain that form he would be more usefull than schweinsteiger. i think marchionnis pace is really something that is missing in our game ... do we have any quick players ...

Problem about Schweinsteiger is, he would demand a starting shirt every week and he isn't afraid to demand it through the media. He is not a teamplayer and I don't want him here at all.

Definetly, much like Podolski, the pressure of the Bayern shirt has effected him tremendously. IMO he's a very talented player which could explode in a new enviroment, again just like Podolski.

The biggest problem in Bayern is complacency even the great Hitzfeld himself had problems with that last season.

You are saying that he wouldn't be more than a marchionni for this team. Schweini is the type of player that steps up for challenge and increasing that level of expectation with the change in environment could provide that challenge. And consistency is the hardest thing to gain especially for his type of player.

Its a risk, but if we can get him on the cheap or even free than i don't understand how you wouldn't go for him. You've seen first hand what can he do, now that illogical.

but just imagine - molinaro takes 70 meter throw from our side, trez or amauri gets a slight touch on it and we score. we could use long ball tactic even in throw-ins

it's just like with Ballack when he played for Bayern .... when Bayern played bad, he did play bad. There was no occasion, where he even tried to change the direction of fate and fight ... don't get me wrong. Ballack is good, when everything around him is good, but he was never the leader he ought to be.
With Schweinsteiger it's similar, but with the exception that he often doesn't do much, even when the others around him (like ribeiry) play good.

read a few posts further up ... i wrote "for free it would be ok"

on one hand i think he would not be satisfied being substitute to camo and probably moan in the media about it (which could generate problems under the players) on the other side i think right now our players are so united, that they would rather stand to ranieri and not to a new player that moans ... but you never know.

This was on the condition that we acquire Xabi Alonso and keep both Tiago and Poulsen. This would make Zanetti somewhat redundant, and with his injury record and age he felt like the most expendable one.
