He wants Italien players, Moggi and Prandelli or Lippi. Anything other than that is a failure.
All I want is to have a team in size of Juve! Image this season game against Milan, I'm sure if all players availabe, we will play something like this:

Buffon
Grygera, Legro, Chiellini, Molinaro
Camo, Sissoko, Zanetti, Nedved
Amauri, Trezeguet

So compare to season before, just one change: Amauri in and Del Piero out!

I think Giovincio, De Caglie and Marchisio are not first team starter, Ranieri will use them as substitues or in home games against weak teams or in Coppa. Ranieir prefers Sissoko to Poulsen and Melberg isn't very much better than Legro! Our standard formation in Serie A and CL will be like that! Don't you agree?

Now we have just better players on the bench..

But Milan will Have Zambro, Flamini and Ronaldinho in first squad and the will have direct Impact!

Conclusion, our transfers didn't change our situation alot!

Jack is depressed. :p

anyway, so far we spent like 13m € on transfers, 23m if you count Sissoko and Boumsong. I had Blasi at 1.7m but it's really 2.6m €.

Our biggest transfer Amauri wan in forward, where we have best players Alex 21, Trez 20 and Iaquinta 10!

What we needed was a great centrl back, Lef Back and great creative Midfielder! and what we did:

Melberg for CB, IMO Legor and Melberg are in same level. Legro was very good last season! and we lost Andrade for season too!
LB, we got De Caglie, he will not be first team player for sure in big games! so Again Molinaro will be there.
and for Creative midfielder, we got Poulsen! which we could go for Diego, Aquilani and Alonso!

What do you think Mark?

I think you are right about the left back and the center back but when you talk about the midfielder what can you do when your coach chooses Poulsen?

Who was the creative midfielder in Inter last year ?
I remember them having a wall in midfield (Zanetti, Cambiasso, Vieira, sometimes even Chivu).
Who was the creative CM in Inter 2 seasons ago ?
Who was the creative CM in Juve in 2004/05 and 2005/06 ?

You know what's the connection (apart from not having creative CM's) between the Juve of 05, 06 and Inter of 07 and 08 ?

Yeah, they won the scudetto while the creative Roma and Milan were winning the 5th place because their creative stars couldn't defend even if their lives depended on defending.

Game, set, match.
Better luck next time.

scudetti? we have plenty. You need more to win the CL. We all know how :inter: won their scudetti, it's not because they had DM's, it goes far beyond that.

CL is a competition where eventhough you invested 1 billion eur in the team, you can fail to win it year after year. No team starts the season focusing only on CL because no-one is crazy enough to do so when you know that one bad day can mean the end of your years long work.

And you don't really think that Xabi Alonso or Aquilani would have won us the CL ?
You can't win something as big as CL over night. You need a long term plan and a lot of luck to win the damn thing.

Now, you can say that we're not doing the right things so in some 3,4,5 years we could win the CL and i'd agree with you on that. But you guys are only lying to yourselves if you think that a creative midfielder (don't we have two in Tiago and Almiron and it didn't work ?) would have done miracles for us this season.

In this particular season we should have focused on the defense and on the squad depth.
We added the depth, we bought a guy who defends the midfield perfectly but we didn't fix the weak spots in our defense.
Creative midfielder was far from being our biggest need this season. It would've been great to have Xabi Alonso (together with Zanetti, Sissoko and Poulsen, not instead one of them) but i really doubt we're gonna be sorry for buying Poulsen instead of Xabi.

But i'm pretty sure we'll be sorry for not buying more quality in defense and we'd have been even more sorry if we bought Xabi Alonso and no quality in defense. This way, with Poulsen, at least we gave a protection to our shaky defense.

I know many of you disagree with this, and it's ok, but look back at our last season and you'll see that our weaknesses were at the back, not in creating and scoring.

Maybe they didn't win the last scudetto (the one before that was well deserved) because of the strong midfield, but the other teams failed to create a lot and score to Inter exactly because of that strong midfield that didn't allow the opponent to win the middle of the pitch.
Of course, one can say that the lack of creativity in Inter resulted with them not being able to score without refs help but remember that even without refs help our midfielders and attackers were easily creating and scoring, so i don't see why should we have a problem this year.
On the other hand, our overall defense was much worse organized and much weaker than Inter's and this is where we suffered the most and this is where we shoul've invested. Sissoko and Poulsen were a move in the right direction, but the backline is still shaky.

the real issue is despite our need of quality in the first team in many departments, we failed to land one "starter"
By many departments you mean... ?
For me it's only Legro and Molinaro, the others are more than good.
We did have a strong first team that could beat anyone and did beat the strongest teams. But we didn't have a strong bench.
Now we have the bench and that problem's solved. But Legro and Molinaro must be replaced.
