My hopes are probably a little high... but in reality, its only two top players, Milito (who looks confirmed) and Diego. Barzagli and Mavuba could be top players, but at this point in time are not. Iaquinta is a solid player, but not exactly world class or a top player by any means. Molinaro won't even crack Juve's defense on a regular basis today...

If Trezeguet leaves, they'd have to sign another good striker, and while Bianchi is more likely, both are potential targets... his sale would free up between 10-20 euro easy, and that can easily buy a solid striker.

ok forget i said top players... we wont spend that much money

Its a little early to say for certain. They definitely have the 50 million euros over and above what they would have allocated before the cash injection.

It really depends on how much Ranieri/Secco want a player, and how much they really want to crack the top 3... You get what you pay for... if they spend less than 30m euro after sales on Iaquinta, Molinaro and Mavuba/Sissoko... odds are they'll get what they paid for alright... a UEFA cup spot.

Better not expect much from Grygera or Salihamidzic then :D

After Buffon is convinced by the plans of the board I think we can expect 2-3 good players.
That's what I'm thinking... Buffon must be getting some top quality reinforcement in the backend, and those guys don't come cheap.

I don't think Buffon would have stuck around if the ambitious plan was to "spend conservatively and hope for the best."

Well, even with those two, Iaquinta and Mavuba/Sissoko, possibly minus Trezeguet, is the team really better than Roma and Fiorentina? (who seem to be rather busy)

Just saying, if the board is serious, they plan to spend some big coin.
no it is not better than Roma but Roma will be in the CL and still don't have a very deep squad

as for Fiorentina they are not as strong as they were this season at the moment. Ok sure thye bought a lot of young talent but you can't count on so much young talent to integrate right away or be consistant. They lost Toni and from what i hear Liverani will go to Palermo to replace Corini and we may take Blasi back. So that is 3 of their most important players.

Lazio too are good but again not that good. They will be spread thin in the CL

with the signings we have and additional ones we will complete we will easily be able to compete

I assume that i the case and that is why Gigi staying is such good news, it really suggests we will do big things this summer or he would not have signed.

Or Secco lied to him.

gigi isn't the pope. he's also very enthusiastic about an unproven coach. that's just his opinion, it's not the bible
Don't spoil this for me. I was very pessimistic about this summer til Gigi signed but this has given me some hope that the board will build a good side for next year.

i don't wanna spoil anything and i won't say a bad word about the coach fe cause i don't know him and will give him a shot, just like i did with dd. but about our board my opinion is simple : juve want mavuba, barcelona want mavuba => mavuba goes to barcelona

not bad... personally, i'd rather this:

Milito: 16m
Barzagli: 10m
Mavuba: 8m
Diego: 23m
Iaquinta: 8m* (likely done already)
Molinaro: ? (under 5 for sure)
Total Spending: 65-70 million euro
Likely Deductions: Balzaretti (under 3), Kovac (under 2), Miccoli (under 5), Zalayeta (under 3), Boumsong (under 3), Legrottaglie (under 2), Kapo (under 3), plus co-ownerships of less needed youth.
Hopeful Total Spending less Deductions: 44-49 million euro.

If Trezeguet Leaves (assuming a transfer fee of 15m euro)
Bianchi: 10m
OR
Quagliarella: 16-20m
I think we're able to sign all the players you're dreaming of bar Diego.

What an average squad we'll have after this summer! :wallbang:

Unfortunately... I see Diego as the crown jewel of the transfer season for Juve... a top level centre midfielder capable of controlling the game.

But he is definitely the least likely to arrive... which is a shame... him and Milito are the most required.

we could get Riquelme for a fraction of the cost and he is better i think

or maby Deco for 15

i think those guys would do the job u want Deigo to do but not cost us as much and are very experienced. they could take us to the title if we have a strong defense

Of course, I'm not sure. But when a team like Juventus is struggling to capture a player like Mavuba, who has no past experience in Italy and is still young to be burdened the responsibility of balancing our team, I think we aren't doing our best. The kid isn't Essien.

Milito is the only superstar we're strongly linked to up till now. I'm not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel to be honest.
