we have to remember that things don't happen overnight, first we have to finish the internal business and thats slowly progressing with negotiations still going with camo and trezi with confirming Gigi and zebina.

We've been linked with a alot of players and many of them would bring something different to the squad. I dont think there would be 3 world class players coming this season, mybe one or two at max.

The management was looking towards frings who i would consider world class, but we didn;t get him at the end.

Just remember the old days when we would sign players towards the end of the transfer period, so i will try being patient with the management.
Fair enough, Adnan. Yes, we've to be sure whether our current players believe in our future project or not, and we've to do our best to extend their contracts first of all.

But the point that I'm talking about is that we can't depend only on average and slightly above average players in the next campaign, especially when taking into account that most of our stars are getting old. And another point here; not all world class players can be lured by a fortune. Players like Lampard and Gilberto Silva can buy the rest of their contracts, Toni cost Bayern just £8m, Metzelder is free, also Frings as you said, etc....

I still hope the management will prove me wrong. As watching two average players or youngsters roaming Juventus centre midfield as starters in Serie A would be shocking.

You may see that next season but remember you don't build the squad in one season. You incorporate players slowly but still not forgetting about some realistic objectives in the process and taking a few risks that may pay off with some unexpected results in a shorter time.

about the world class players, ofcourse its hard luring the stars.Right now we are working with our name first and this project second. And they need to be closely related with negotiations. We are asking some players to let go of playing European competitions so they can be part of this team, so ofcourse its a big ask.

Anyway like i said am not too optimistic about the management but am giving them a chance for now.

I don't demand us building a winning squad immediatelly, I just want to guarantee some decent players for the future, on whom we can start building a future competitive squad. This can be achieved through:
  • Keeping our best players should be our priority, as you said.
  • Incorporate some promising youngsters.
  • Signing solid players + two or three top players.

I think the first one can be achieved and even if either Trezeguet or Camoranesi decides to leave, they won't leave for free. I don't want to lose any of them, but I think they're replaceable. As for our youngsters, I think we're doing a pretty good job regarding that field. The last point is what I'm concentrating on to be honest. Yes, we're negotiating lots of solid players who are expected to have a bright future. Yet, I think top signings are vital. We can do it as I explained in my previous post, it isn't all about money.

Even though, we hear daily about players who snub our approach, I'm waiting till the end of the market to give a fair opinion. :pint:

What's happening with the Sissoko transfer? Stall?

Buffon
Grygera - Cannavaro - Milito - Chiellini
Camoranesi - Gilberto - Almiron - Nedved
Trezeguet - Del Piero

Criscito, Salihamidzic, Iaquinta.

It is in you opinion, but not in players. Italian rating fell down after calciopolli, but thank God it's improving and getting back.
Italy will stay as best football country because italians are best, calciopoli or faqfuqopoli cant change their abilities

also hundreds of english and spanish players higly overrated ballons not true football stars.
