Some people accuse me of being pessimistic, but I think that they are the ones who are optimistic, not the opposite. The vast majority of the fans here run from happiness when they hear us linked to a new player. Actually I've noticed that we're eager to sign a single player whoever this player is and we over-hype some players, simply because we aren't negotiating better ones. And we're saying that we're building a competitive squad!

@mark77, didn't the management announce that there would be three big signings + keeping the big guns in Delle Alpi?

Logically, if we had an intention to sign three big names, we should have linked to six big names. Okay, let's suppose that we're sure we'll land the big names whom we're negotiating, WHO ARE THE THREE BIG NAMES WE'RE STRONGLY LINKED TO FOR GOD'S SAKE?

It is funny that we aren't linked with any real big names, only some prospects. Either our board is very discrete or our board aren't looking for 'current' big names.

i hope Secco is being shrewd instead of being stupid...and it is way too early in the off season to make signings anyway...who knows who will become available...the Spanish season isnt over yet...lets just hope for the best

How good was Cannavaro before he came?
With Parma he was sick but not just yet world class. He could tackle like the best but the rest of his game was not top five. With Inter he didn't really find his step but was still pretty good, but with Juventus he really became a world class tackler.

we have to remember that things don't happen overnight, first we have to finish the internal business and thats slowly progressing with negotiations still going with camo and trezi with confirming Gigi and zebina.

We've been linked with a alot of players and many of them would bring something different to the squad. I dont think there would be 3 world class players coming this season, mybe one or two at max.

The management was looking towards frings who i would consider world class, but we didn;t get him at the end.

Just remember the old days when we would sign players towards the end of the transfer period, so i will try being patient with the management.

Even Del Piero said today that we gonna signing an important player very soon

One of those is to strengthen the squad that has earned promotion from Serie B after Calciopoli and President Cobolli Gigli whetted the appetites of the supporters.

“The players met with Ranieri and his staff for the first time on Friday and we expect to announce another important new signing very soon,” said the patron.

“We are working to make the team ever stronger and I am sure that when we start the season, we will immediately be competitive.”

Ok, I don't think we gonna fight for the scudetto immediately but I'm sure we gonna be competative. We are overreacting a little bit, transfer market isn't opened yet and we already want big names. Just remember Moggi era, when we waited the last day of transfer period to sign someone. So let's give a time to the board and be optimistic and hope for the best.
