Mark,

I don't see a problem with playing two lefties together because, I maintain, playing style is far more important when it comes to CB pairings.

I played left CB most of the time, despite only being decent with my left foot, and never had any problem. The key thing was that my CB partner had pace, as that was what I lacked.
You were decent with your left. Most lefties use their right only to walk. I agree that one should be fast and good in anticipation while the other should be strong, tall and be good in the air.

I find that pure lefties have more trouble turning inside out while playing on the right center. More than a righty on the left. Might just be my perception and the alcohol.

I would agree that lefties are as good with their weaker foot as righties are, but I wouldn't want to write off a whole bunch good lefties that could partner Chiellini on that basis.

Off the top of my head, both Criscito and Agger are lefties that are, at worst, okay with their weaker foot.

I wouldn't have trusted a partnership of Chiellini and Milito for example. Cannavaro was good with both feet so he was great at RCB or LCB. Matreazzi sucks as a D but I wouldn't play him on Samuel's right. I think Mourinho tried it once but that was in case of emergency. I don't think I saw Samuel with Chivu in a 4-4-2 with both at CB.

let's look at what we need;

Zebina and Andrade are semi-retired and Neddy is close to it. The 3 key positions we need to fill in the summer market or even now if Secco wants to anticipate everybody is an AML, a RB and a young CB to partner Chiellini for many years.

I would pick from these players:

RB: Rafinha, Eboué, Lichtsteiner
CB: Santacroce, Subotic, Ivanovic or Alex(not that old), Mexès, Zapata
AM L: Zhirkov, D. Silva, Turan

I've never seen Mattioni play so I didn't mention him but if they say he's good then let's buy him. Would I want Corluka of course I would but I don't see those "rich" clubs selling these kind of players.

I agree, we need an RB, a young CD and a replecament for Neddy.

Our priority should be a midfielder - Neddy replecament. My favourite is D. Silva.

RB? well I wouldn´t mind that mattioni guy, even though i haven´t heard of him, but he is wanted by MU... so he can´t be so bad.

CD? I would go for Criscito. The guy is young, talented, relatively experienced and he is ours. We have a WC defender - Chiellini and two very solid and experienced CD´s - Legro and Mellberg, so why to spend? save the money for that midfielder

Just need a new RB now and Hamsik and a new centre back will follow in the summer.

The right back is critical.

Looks like we are close to sign Da Costa.

Milan ready to pay 7mln euros for Agger. Well let's get him if he's leaving.

Agents:

Hamsik is perfect replacement for Nedved but Napoli is not willing to sell him

Cassano to Juve?Never say never

Diego is in Italy

Dule , who do you think we will get in January, and who do you wish to get?

2 max
I think we already signed Mattioni but he's coming at the end of the season.

If we end up with anyone in January it will be Da Costa.I don't think we're going to sign anyone else.

I want many players  but we don't have any chances to sign them in January.

Da costa is an average centre back. More of a Defensive midfielder/fullback than centre back. If the club are going to sign a centre back they should sign Either santacroce/Zapata.

These players are probably the best players available in thier position. Were obviously not going to sign every single one of these players, but signing two or 3 would make a significant difference in terms of enhancing the quality in our squad. For example Were being linked with an average left sideded midfielder with little quality in D'Agostino when we could sign a world class one in Silva.

CB - Zapata/Santacroce
RB - Rafinha
AML- Silva
CM - Hamsik
Playmaker - Diego/Modric
