Yet you live there. Interesting :)
Yeah, but not like that, I like England as a country, if I didn't I would leave. England are a rival just as France, Holland, Germany etc are and I don't like them either.

OMG, Tudor is having a horrid time out there, one of his worst matches. But it was an obvious handball by Treze and the goal shouldnt have stood.

I don't think that it was intentional, but the hand was there and the goal shouldn't stand. Actually the ref looked quite poor overall tonight. Not such a great 1st half, but the 2nd was quite entertaining.
I can't believe what a joke Tudor is becoming. I remember a couple of years ago he was soo good everyone (including me) thought that he's Juve's Nesta :wallbang:

Santini is a f. disgrace! :scream: What a crap game from France. Completely controlled the first half, yet they barely had any shots on goal!! Tudor lent a hand and scored their first goal, then Gallas missed the open net. :wth: But to go from that to the pathetic performance in the 2nd half is quite an achievement. First of all, WTF is Silvestre doing on the pitch?? Why isn't Liza playing? He was much better covering defensively in the first match! Secondly, Desailly is a serious liability and Gallas should take his spot instead of wondering off on the flank where he obviously doesn't belong. Thuram did fine in the center, once again he was quite good. But Desailly can't cut it no more, he's too slow and he's not alert anymore. Gallas was brilliant at center back, why the f. mess with that?? So then Silvestre concedes ANOTHER penalty, does he have any clue what's going on around him? Rapaic scores despite a very decent effort from Barthez and it's all square. Then we got nothing, no response to this sudden goal. Instead, the Croats start taking charge and running their game, we got all the possession we could possibly want but we're toothless. Once again they take advantage of a defensive error and Prso scores a nice goal to put them ahead. So now it's 2-1 and the commies keep going off on how this is shocking and who would have thought. But we still got nothing, we can't get a shot on goal even, all the crosses are cut out, can't go through the middle, corners are wasted and Zidane misses all the free kicks. Then, by a stroke of luck, Tudor makes a horrible back pass (as bad as he's playing, he should never be out there), Trez fronts Vasilj, the ball bounces off of his hand and he scores. And it's even again. Blind man Kim Milton Nielsen doesn't see it and gives out yellow cards to the protesters instead. :rollani:

And there it is, yet another crap game from the team. England was no one off, this is all we get. I think it's quite obvious that we should be able to beat Croatia but at least a two goal margin with the players out there. But we don't have it, we can't break them down. So we need support and Santini is standing there like a moron, clueless. :wallbang: The one thing that really wasn't working today was the crossing. Not one cross made it to its target, they were all bad, blocked, missed the players completely. So confronted with this, what does the dumbass in the tie do? He leaves two of the best crossers in the team on the bench. Sagnol doesn't come on until 75' while the best crossers since 1947 doesn't even come off the bench!! Why does he hate Rothen so much? He would have been perfect for this. He's like a robot, he will do anything to get the cross in and once he does it's almost always good. But no, leave it to Zidane, Henry, Gallas, Pires, Wiltord. They sure did a hell of a job delivering the ball. :frustrat:

I knew it from the start, once I heard he already signed with Tottenham BEFORE the tournament started I was saying to myself what kind of coach would do that to his team??? Santini, that's who. Jacques the jackass. It's so obvious that this team needs some serious guidence to get to where they are supposed to go and Santini is completely inept. He doesn't even get involved, he just stands on the byline like he doesn't even understand the game. Today they didn't score one proper goal, Tudor helped us out and Trez handballed. Croatia was run over by the French but they still deserved to win!!!

Barthez: Solid performance. There was one time he dropped the ball after Thuram tackled him but shit happens, he should have held on to it but it was a one off. Otherwise he wasn't tested all the much but he was close to the penalty and he was secure.

Silvestre: Crap. No offence, mediocre defence. Caused a completely unnecessary penalty. Fair enough, with Rooney it was a tactical foul. Today was just a dumb foul.

Gallas: Misplaced and confused. He can't cross the ball and he's no good going forward. He should stay in the back and do his work like he did last time.

Thuram: Solid him too, I didn't spot any mistakes and though he's slower now his positioning is still good. No complaints.

Dacourt: Definitely would have chosen Makelele ahead of him. Less precision and more aggression is what you get with Dacourt, even though it didn't really seem like his heart was in it.

Vieira: An occasional miss here and there but he holds the midfield together. Very incapable of participating offensively but that's not his job anyway.

Wiltord: Incredibly wasteful and unproductive. Couldn't get his crosses in, didn't beat his marker once and created next to nothing.

Zidane: Why do I get the impression he's tired? His first half was identical to the team's, very active and in control. But the one thing he is supposed to do is find the right passes and openings. Don't tell me Croatia is too tough an opponent, they didn't shut down shop like England. At this point, Zidane is largely flashy but ineffective. I suppose the lack of movement from his teammates is to blame but then he IS the genius here.

Henry: Very ineffective. Couldn't do much with the ball, didn't get any crosses to work with, misfired a few times and generally a performance to forget.

Trez: Even worse, doesn't get one chance the whole game, he's not involved and scores a goal that's not even valid. So far it's been a crap tournament from Trez.

I'm sure you've all missed my tremendous football insight (and those of you who don't know me, please bear in mind I am an American so what the hell do I know?? ):p

That France-Croatia game certinaly was exciting but you have to wonder if France is going to put together 90 minutes. If they do, they will be dangerous but it probably won't fly in the elimination rounds. I don't know why but it seems like France is missing something, they must be when Barthez is one of their better players. I don't understand starting Wiltord in favor or Pires, or Dacourt ahead of Makelele or playing Desially at all (it is clear he is finished) but maybe France will learn from this for future matches. I used to think they were foolish for not playing Henry and Trez together but it does not seem to be a pair that works so well and you can't very well bench Henry so maybe it is time to give someone a start for Trez next match.

The tournament has seemed pretty lackluster to me thusfar. Surely Sweeden and Greece aren't the two best sides, are they? If France were able to play like they did in the first half of today's match for the rest of the tournament then they would have a good chance but they have been far too inconsisent.

The second half was really entertaining, as far: the best half of the matches in EURO.
Now I cant wait to see rest of matches in this group, cause it may be interesting, specially England-Croatia.

I dont think this is Martin. Seriously, this aint him. Someone must have cracked his account or something. If you read his post once more you'll see it's not Martin. First of all, he got the Croatia keeper name wrong, it's not Vasilj (??? :wth: ), it's Butina. Martin wouldnt make that misstake. Secondly, he got the smilies wrong, he misstyped bigtime, something we dont expect of him. Third, he's usually much more reserved. When have you head him talk so passionately, or say a player is crap??? I never have. He's too bitter, too sarcastic, uses too many swear words, and not as objective as he usually is.

I'm quite serious. The first thing I though when I read this was "This aint Martin".

Who are you Impostor man, and what do you want of us???

Sorry I got the keeper's name wrong, that's really dumb. Couldn't remember it so I looked on euro2004.com and chose their no. 1 :)

Frustration that comes from a long period of expectations not fulfilled, Z. :) I suppose I got a little more pissed than I usually do but this was exceptionally bad.

Thats OK Martin, it's just that I really couldnt recognize you :D ;)

Anyways, I agree with you, Rothen should most definately be in there, and I fail to see why Wiltord and Desailly are on the pitch.
