i agree he still has a lot to offer, but somehow i think he will still be s starter in Real, cos i think both salgado and r carlos are not gonna be playing in Real anymore,so the possible arrival of chivu,he would probably play in left back, and ramos really does play really well in the right back position..so cannavaro might still be needed, with metzelder as the two centre backs..

Indeed, I doubt they're gonna leave him on the bench. You forgot Helguera but with all of them you got a pretty impressive and solid back line which you can easily rotate.

Will be stiff competition none the less. :)

Chivu[sic], Metzelder, Cannavaro, Ramos, Helguera
Yeah but that's a good thing. Chivu can play LB and CB, Ramos can play CB and RB, Helguera can play CB and DMC, leaving only Cannavaro and Metzelder as true CB's. Lot of options which is good considering there are many games to play and the injury factor.

Chivu's agent said he is not interested in talking to Real or Barca, and will either go to Inter on a 4 year contract earning 4.5 million euros a year, or else stay at Roma till his contract expires

Well that sounds nice and all. But at least two of them end up on the bench for other positions. And all the names are pretty heavy. I can't picture Chivu smiling on the bench week in week out. As a centre back he's fantastic, but as a LB, well he's not exactly the next Carlos.

I also read that it was Juve that negotiated with Zaragoza yesterday and the day before. I also heard that Juve were talking with Barca(I think I said that yesterday) so the Marquez thing could happen unless we're going for Deco(we are looking for a mid with good feet said Blanc). Could Secco really do that? :D
that player with good feet is diego, though perhaps deco is just an option incase the diego transfer becomes a saga too

p.s today is the day the true judgement day, just 24 hrs and we will have a decision
