Why? Because the truth hurts?
I love Serie A, always have and always will, but lets call a spade a spade, the league has zero value outside of Italy, we have streamrolled the competition the last 3 seasons running. We go to Milan in the San Siro and they park the bus.
A semi final place in the CL gives us way more prestige than winning in Italy at the moment. We are essentially this decades version of Lyon in Ligue 1 in the 00s. They won the league 8 times in a row, did anyone care? No, Lyon's value came from doing well in the Champions League consistently.
I can't speak for anyone else but watching Serie A games doesn't get my heart pumping no longer, even against the likes of Roma, Napoli, Inter etc. It's just a formality that we will win. I've been excited for tonights game against Dortmund for $#@!ing weeks. Serie A doesn't make me feel like that anymore.
We are so far ahead of the competition it's frightening, look at all the money Roma has spent and we are 14 points ahead of them. Nothing will change next season or the season after. I fully expect 5 or 6 league titles in a row.
