Do you or do you not believe in the coming of the Messiah? Do you believe God dictated the 10 commandments to Moses?

There's a difference between not being a practical (spelling anyone, I mean someone who doesn't follow every rule) Jew or not being a Jew at all. If you don't believe in the coming of the Messiah, you're not a Jew.

eh like i said im skeptical on this whole messiah business be it jesus or george bush. i believe in the 1 true god, i try to at least follow the 10 commandments, that alone is enough.

yes i may seem a little offensive to christians but dont get me wrong i dont hate them as a collective at all

Just out of curiosity:

the 10 commandments in the Bible are the same as the ones in the Torah, right? So christians obey the same commandments. Now you claim to be a converted Jew. Where the fuck is the logic in that?

Oh and don't you go claiming christians believe in multiple gods.

Yes , far too many people like that .many Christians , muslims , Jews actually acknowledge their religion but often do the exact opposite of what their religion teaches them . Although the Quran does preach violence in some ways

i dont think alone is enough, to truly follow a religion it to follow it as your "god wishes ". i think its too easy and common nowadays for people to pick and choose what they want to do. you follow a religion, none of this bullshit likei will go to the temple, synagogue, church etc, whenever it suites me.

well i dont know ive never personally read it, i was always lead to believe that tolerance of others was something imbedded into the foundations of the religion

no then bare in mind i said islam and christianty branched from judaism so alot of the foundations are shared with judaism, i.e the 1 god, the halal/kosher, 10 commandments, but since im skeptical about jesus leaning more towards that i dont believe he existed and if he did i dont think he performed the miracles that were described in the new testament which is what the jews believe

Like i mentioned earlier , you really can't pick what you want from your religion and choose to believe it . If you don't believe the coming of messiah , then you aren't a jew . That's like saying i'm christian but i don't think christ was really ever born .

Well , your theory about christianity being born for the purpose of annoying the jews is not only offensive to christians , but offensive to anyone's intelligence .

well im not orthodox, infact reform which is rather casual and relaxed, ie the women sit with the men in synagogue, i mean ffs till last yr we had a female rabbi which is almost unheard of. therefore my beliefs are quite relaxed and dont keep things like kosher

like i said its a reform branch, not united or orthodox, so my beliefs as a jew on a reform scale is miles apart to those of an orthodox following

Christianity was created as an excuse to hate Jews. The Romans formed a union with the christians they persecuted, because they both hated Jews. But it is only come Constantine in the 4th century AC the hatred towards Jews is evident in the christan belief.

Now this is truly odd, badass. You mean that the christians in the first century actually managed to look 300 years into the future and thus created a religion that they knew would later on be used against the Jews? Well you generalised so quickly, are you telling me a speech by pope Urban II, as cruel as it was, the accounts werent biased. Your statement only has relevance if it is talking about what jesus did or what done against him. it doesnt apply to the matter of his existence. A biased view cannot question the existence of something only question the actions.
