Well i'm not a die hard fan of the catalan club Barcelona but i can see that the total revolution they started has been a success till now.

They had the best transfer market :-

GoalKeeper = Rustu Recber

Defender = Rafael Marquez

Midfield = Luis Garcia & Ricardo Quaresma

Attack = Brazilian sensation Ronaldinho

all those are great players if not world class.

this is not the end of their transfer market.as Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rosell has promised that he will sign two or three more players.i think Joan Laporta has successfully done his job since he took over at the nou camp.

as you all see we are on the verge of seein' a great team full with champions.a team that i wish them to kick real madrid ass.

Do you think Barca will be competitive enough to be crowned the next Liga champions.what do you think about thier transfer market.

Supposedly in debt, and I wonder how they finance such deals..

Anyway, isn't there limit on how many non-EU player in Spain.

Rustu, Marquez, Saviola, Ronaldinho, Riquelme, are all non-EU.

Furthermore, they paid ridiculous amount of money on Ronaldinho, overrated player IMO. However, Laporta is certainly not a dumb-ass many of us thought he was.;).

I think the key man could be Luis Enrique. Barca will have extremely young team, and being a veteran and longtime Barca man, he will have the responsibility to lead the team.
And I expect Saviola to have a breakout year.

Still lacking; 1. backup Forward, 2. One or two defender, 3. A midfielder (defensively capable).

GO BARCA!

I think Ronaldinho has a hell of a test before him now to prove to the world that he is worthy the colors of Barca and the amount of money they paid for him.

What about Xavi and Cocu? BTW, how's this for a starting lineup:

    Rustu
    Puyol Andersson Marquez
    Quaresma Xavi Cocu Garcia
    Ronaldinho Kluivert Saviola

Can someone please post Barce's full squad?

To me they have a team of the future. They won't reach success quite as yet, maybe in a year or two.

Xavi is extremely overrated defensive player, IMO. Guardiola had ability to read opposition attacks, which made up his lack of mobility, Xavi doesn't have that vision in my view.:). Cocu is good all round utility guy, and not a defense specialist.
I personally would relegate Cocu to a rotational player, since there will always be injuries, it doesn't mean he won't get many playing time, and buy a Davids clone who can cover grounds and provide some aggresiveness in the midfield. Furthermore, this will give Xavi the freedom to be more offensive, and utilize his outstanding passing, and vision for through-passes.:).

    I would play,
    Rustu,
    Puyol, Marquez, Andersson, New leftback/Cocu/Navarro,
    New mid/Cocu, Xavi, Luis Enrique/Cocu/Garcia
    Ronaldinho,
    Kluivert, Saviola

    ---------------------Rustu------------------------
    Puyol------Marquez--Andersson----Navarro
    Overmars---Xavi-------Cocu-------Quaresma
    --------------Kluivert---Saviola------------------

Though I would like to fit Roman in there somewhere, perhaps a diamond but its a bit risky leaving Xavi on his own in there

    Great team :thumb:

Riquelme is at PSG now right?!
I am not sure, but isn't Ronaldinho deal pure cash deal? Therefore, I still think he is on the Barca books as it is.:).

BTW, how many non-EU players are you allowed to field in Spain?

Barca certainly have the ingredients for success .. but I think there only weakpoint is their coach: Frank Rijkard .. they have brought in many great players as discussed previously .. I don't know how Riquelme will fit in the new-Barca but I think it's something that Rijkard has to work on .. I'm a big fan of Quaresma he has great skills with the ball, amazing technique, and ease of dribbling past defenders !! I think Quaresma/Ronaldinho will finally bring back the old Barca and replace Figo/Rivaldo ..

I think those line-ups would be good for them if Overmars remains .. too bad Rochemback left for Sporting .. anyway, the line-up is very similar to ours and here it goes:

Plan A (4-4-2 Diamond), against Small teams:

    --------------------------------- Recber -------------------------------------

    --- Gabri ---------------- Marquez -- Puyol ------------ Reiziger ---

    ------------------------------ Xavi/Cocu ------------------------------------

    --- Quaresma -------------------------------------------- Overmars ---

    ----------------------------- Ronaldinho ----------------------------------

    ---------------- Saviola ---------------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------------------------- Kluivert ------------------

    Subs:

    Sorin (for Rezeiger)
    Motta/Luise Enrique (for Overmars)
    Gerrard (for Xavi/Cocu)
    Riquelme (for Quaresma/Ronaldinho)

Plan B (4-4-2 Flat) More Balanced, for Average-Big teams.

    --------------------------------- Recber -------------------------------------

    --- Gabri ---------------- Marquez -- Puyol ------------ Reiziger ---

    ---------------------------- Xavi ----Cocu ------------------------------------

    --- Quaresma -------------------------------------------- Overmars -----

    ---------------- Ronaldinho ---------------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------------------------- Kluivert ------------------

You have some bravery to leave out $28m man!;)

    dpforever,
I too like Quaresma, especially I thought he was terrific against Milan two years ago. Not many teenagers could give the great Maldini one hell of time. Quick, more importantly has good acceleration, with ability to dribble past people and with flair!:).
However, I do feel he is little bit young to step into Barca midfield straight away. And Barca should be carefully not have another *cough* Simao *cough* case who at the time was considered best young winger just like Quaresma is right now.

Beside, I think Enrique is too important player to leave out if he is healthy. He has leadership quality, and his desire to win is second to none. I think it is essential to have one of those players in the team.

I'd rather have Trezeguet than Ronaldinho!!

as far as I know you are allowed three non-EU in the match squad

   ,
    that is quite funny.
If there is only 3players allowed, then you essentially have to chose between Saviola and Ronaldinho since both Rustu and Marquez is non-EU, and both of them are too important to leave out.

Could that mean, Saviola is available;):D.

I knew there was limitations but I just wasn't sure how many.

Tom, I'm confident Ronaldinho won't dissapoint you as a Barca fan .. I've seen him play many teams with PSG .. he's got pace and has great vision wich helps him in creating assists with his trademark 'thread passes' .. and with Saviola/Kluivert upfront the combination would certainly be a red-hot one .. Ronaldinho's freekicks aren't bad either ;)

Jun, I'm sure we will do some fixing and one of them will turn up with an Italian great aunt ;)

Fahad, admittedly I've seen less of him than you (thankfully, my face would have cracked up :stress: ). What I've seen of him has been less than impressive on the majority of occasions. The most disappointing thing is that Riquelme is 5 times the player Ronaldinho is, yet he will probably leave. Awful.
