I can't believe people are getting offended by this.
Im sorry Andy, but if jose had said this you would be going mad saying how classless he is... which these comments definately were...

Doesnt matter now anyway as alberto has aplogised as he was misinformed

Owen isn't this kind of player.if Totti said this I would believe but about Owen,if he hope for scoring 5 goals against Azerbaijan it wouldn't be a sin.

In any case it's just a big misunderstanding, both parties have apologised.

I suppose at the end of the day the culprit should be the media, the comments were taken way out of context and all this arose from a question from a journalist who obviously knew what he was asking, ahead of such a one sided fixture asking such a question would surely provoke some headline-worthy reaction from Owen.

If Owen had actually said what he did it would be fair game, however since the apology obviously it wasn't.

And no matter how much you love Mourinho he still made up false accusastions to gain an advantage and I find it ridiculous you support such a disgrace. Rather pathetic if you ask me.

Are u guys seriously believing this garbage? I just don't see anyone releasing such comments to the press, no matter how stupid.
Im sorry but your wrong... He said those words in his official post match interview live on tv for the world to hear in his own voice... He also repeated them on several live tv and radio interviews later... so No its not sensationalism , its what he said

For someone who gets so irate when people criticise Americans, you're treading a very thin line on the road to hypocrisy!

Firstly, I dont love Jose at all... I think hes a good manager and he amuses me... I am not his 'fan' though

I do however love his passion, spirit and his raw emotion

That incident is not the point... My point was that if he had said it you would have branded him classless but when alberto says it... you find that funny... Double standards

As for Joses case... hes been punnished.. thats the end of it.
The incident itself was blown out of all proportion anyway... Its nothing that the majority of managers dont do all the time but no one ever worries about it.

Virtually every match in serie a is followed by these types of accusations and conspiracy theories... The figc jus arnt bothered by it as it is jus part of the game.

No it wasnt actually... check your facts.

And less of those comments please.... You dont like the ameriacan comments so dont make these anti english ones... we all know you hate english football, its players and anything to do with it , which is fine but theres no need for the offensive nationalistic comments.

Are you all idiots? Carlos Alberto said what he did, so that his players, the fans, and the media will pay less attention to how much the loss to England hurt them. He probably couldn't care less about Owen or his height, he's trying to to qualify.

It was put to one American cardinal that the choice in 1978 of Albino Cardinal Luciano, who reigned for only 33 days as Pope John Paul I, did not seem to be divinely inspired.

On the contrary, the cardinal replied - it was the Holy Spirit's way of telling the cardinals they needed to break the Italian habit and elect a Pole as bishop of Rome.

I think it is humorous even though it is stupid...
But without such announcment from time to time world of football will be a real boring place, ya cann't make all the coaches in the world make deplomatic statments as Lippi, ya need stupidity somtimes to add spice to the nourishment.... no big deal...
