hehe okay

Christians don't have holy sites, since God is everywhere, and there's no reason why any Earthly place should be called holy more than any other. I hope that answers your question :)
Exactly, and that's why we christians decided to slaughter muslims in order to get the holy city of Jeruzalem back in the Middle Ages! :D

it's extremely judgmental to hate an entire race of people just because of what people from generations ago did. Most countries in the world have done some pretty atrocious stuff, but holding grudges like that gets people nowhere
A lot of people have done stupid things in the name of religion. Countless people have been slaughtered as you described, with the perfect disguise of 'doing God's work'. It can be seen everywhere, even including popular culture. The first thing that comes to mind is the loonies in King Arthur. Decades/Centuries ago, white churches used to ban black people from attending because it was believed that blacks weren't chosen by God. The story goes on...

You shouldn't have used that whole "judgemental" thing on me. I'm christian you know, or at least I was at one point.

that was just a quote from when I replied to someone who referred to Nazi Germany as justification for hating Germans in this day and age, nothing specific.

I know, but you can't really use that quote here because that would mean I hate christians... which I obviously can't or at least it would be extremely hard...

Why are you so in to religion anyway, Gray? I mean, it's strange to see young people that are occupied with religion ...

okay, maybe the quote didn't apply literally, and I apologise if it seemed that I was attacking or accusing you in any way... the basic point of that post was that you shouldn't generalise about a whole group of people based on the actions of others who (claim to)/belong to that race/religion/whatever.

i know a lot of people have the wrong idea about religion and all that; personally I don't even like the word religion, it sounds much too traditional and impersonal for me. I feel uncomfortable even calling myself 'religious'.

For me, it's simply a natural reaction to the grace and mercy that have been shown to me, and more than being about trying to be a better person and all that, it's about my personal relationship with the God whose existence and power I witness daily and can attribute to nothing else but a being greater than myself.

Occupied is such a negative word, don't you think? :) You make it sound like a burden or a distraction to my agenda, which couldn't be further from the truth :D

It is a negative word. But I guess I used it because that's how I lived my christianity: as something we had to do for school. It's ridicolous we have to go church once a year with our class, at least it is when you don't believe in it. And I don't for the simple fact I've never seen nor heard God. And come on, is he's such a nice guy he won't care about the fact I don't believe in him, will he?

But I guess that "I believe because I'm scared"- thing doesn't really apply to you.
