Well your opinion is completely opposite if not only reality but scientific studies
Yeah, I didn't mean it as a fact, just from what I witness daily.

Hard to believe though. Look at the ranking of the gross national happiness index.

Anyway, how would you interpret this passage?-

<< 1 Corinthians 14:34 >>: women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

Personally I think everyone should remain quiet in churches. It's obscene that people talk, discuss or have their cell phones ring during church. For me everyone needs to shut up.

Now that interpretation is based on the fact that Peter was a Jew of the 1st century and as that Jew they believed woman should be quiet in church and not participate. At least they were allowed into the church unlike the temple which women weren't Allowed beyond the wall

Yeah but if it's in the Bible isn't a law of God?

And this one doesn't mention church- 1 Timothy 2:12: I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.
Those aren't laws. It was Peter basically saying what the woman's place was in the church. It wasn't our into Canon. These are letters pre established church. There were many churches with different leaders Peter, James, Paul etc etc once the church started things were put as law. The remnants of these statements is that most conservative. Christian movements do not have women priest or pastors

So what's the points of these parts of the Bible? Aren't these books written by Timothy and Peter and everyone else supposed to be inspired by God? And then the man-made Church just comes along and picks and chooses what becomes law?

Not very statement Jesus spoke was law. What's your point? Not every word spoken equals law? Cmon man that's common sense these were been Christians trying to deal with their old Jewish beliefs and how to handle that after Jesus over turned IT

These are just a few problems with Christianity that I have: they seem to pick and choose what to believe and they do away with a lot of things with the 'it's modern times' excuse. Also the authenticity of the bible doesn't seem to be an issue for them. The fact that the bible was written by people who lived centuries after Christ should be a concern, the fact that Paul pretty much decided what Christianity became is a bit worrying considering how he was so against Christianity. The fact that there are so many similarities with Christianity and Roman Mythology is never mentioned by Christians.

No it's not common sense when ancient laws that should have no place in today's society still apply: no contraception, no pre-marital sex, no homo, no woman priests, priests can't marry or have kids. Again, all these things were in the Bible but the Church chose what it wanted to make law some 2,000 years ago. Maybe these things should've went out with the other "old Jewish traditions" as time went by.

This is what I mean when the majority doesn't understand how to read Scripture
In other words, people who disagree with you.

Exactly.
