People, why are we going on and on about one solitary loss in 8 matches. It happens to the best of them. And instead of pointing out some clear errors, lets take nothing away from the opposition. Roma were better than us, and the way they played, i dont think it wouldve mattered whether dp, maresca etc etc were around.

I dont think we've made our ambition of winning the cl no secret. that is our top priority this season, and weve made no bones abt it. i think what we must focus primarily on is the cl, and as long as we give that our best i wouldnt complain. Lets face it we all want the cl.

Baggio i know they were better. If another team is better they would by one goal or two or even three not 4.And i'm talking about my team juveee.I'm saying why my team wasn't good. Why did we play a wonderfull game against inter and come back to stink against roma!!!
I haven't seen juve play this bad in years.I KNOW ROMA WERE VERY TOUGH> but even if we have to lose, at least we need to give them a hard time about it, and not an easy game like that.

i didnt wanna start a new thread so here goes.....

Juve Facing Back Problems

Crushed 4-0 by AS Roma and trailing Serie A leaders AC Milan by eight points, Juventus are asking themselves an unusual question - what happened to our title-winning defence?

Marcelo Lippi's side, winners of the past two Serie A titles, have had the tightest defence in Italy for the past four seasons. But having conceded 25 goals so far this in this campaign, they have the worst defensive record of any of the teams in the top eight. After just 20 games this season, Lippi's team have already conceded more goals than their entire title-winning campaign in 2002.

At the Olimpico Stadium on Sunday, Roma's Francesco Totti and Antonio Cassano tored through the defence throughout the game and their combination of invention and speed proved too much for central defensive pairing of Nicola Legrottaglie and Paolo Montero to cope with. Uruguayan Montero had a nightmare game, conceding the penalty shortly after the break, which allowed Totti to put Roma 2-0 up and then minutes later getting himself sent off for a crude kick at Totti. The 33-year-old's lack of pace was frequently exposed and his hot temper, always a problem, left his team 2-0 down and with ten men.

Legrottaglie, who joined Juve from Chievo in the close-season, has struggled to settle in nad has never looked as comfortable as during his impressive performances in Verona and with Italy. The veteren Ciro Ferrara, who will be 37 today, watched the match from the bench it is strange that a club with such huge resources now has such little cover at the back.

After the woeful defending in the recent 3-3 draw at the lowly Empoli, many experts predicted Juve would make a late move in the transfer market to shore uptheir backline. It did not happen and Lippi has insisted that with Croatian defender, Igor Tudor and the experience Mark Iuliano, as well as French full back Lilian Thuram, he had plenty of options.

On paper that may be true, but Montero's drastic loss of form and Legrottaglie's failure to raise his game leaves Lippi with little choice but to turn to Ferrara and possibly ask Tudor to drop back from midfield.

Lippi insist that despite the crushing defeat at the Olimpic Stadium, Juve remain in the title race. "If there's anyone here who thinks that by loosing here we've given up on the title, he should think again. Juventus never gives up," he said.

Certainly the season is far from over and Juve, also in the last 16 in the Champions League, are past masters at making late burst for the title. But for the first time in years Juve's defence looks weaker than their rivals.

Roma have powerful Argentine stopper, Walter Samuel and classy Romanian Cristian Chivu at the heart of the defence which has conceded just nine goals in 20 games so far this season. Milan's pairing of Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini has bags of experince and quality and so far has conceded just a few goal everyr other game

maybe we struggled against depor because they are class team, permanent title contender in spain. we'll se what will nappen this year, when they're definetely weaker.

let me get one thing straight though. 8 point gap is not the end, milan and roma with both lose. of course they will, but are we capable of going through these 14 matches without losing points? imagine, milan loses 2 and draws 2 games. 10 points lost. in order to be level on points we can only draw one game? you think that's possible. we need either that milan would get into biggest crisis of recent years and lost half of games remaining or that we would find absolutely brilliant form which would bring us both scudetto and champions cup. either of these is unlikely. so let's pray for silver star and luck in europe.

Every team in the world has to have a down point in his season. But only this team's players can determine when this down point is going to finish, and when are they going to pick themselves up and continue to be a better team.

We have to forget the roma match. Its a hit on the head, and it hurts i know.however we need to forget about it.

Now we have the inter match. They won't give an easy game, i think they will give a very hard time. But this match can detemine if this team has quality or not. This match will determine if this team has the personality to go on and have good performances and good results.

This is why we need to be behind our team all the way, because the time of criticism is over now we need to focus.

Hey but lets not discount hte fact that Milan have peaked( atleast imo.) I dont think they can get ne better than what they are. Juve on the other hand, might peak when ti matters most. i.e in the coming 2 months.

Exactly. And it happened with Milan last season, they peaked right at the death. I think Juve will do the same this season.

And you guys call yourself Juve fans? More like glory hunters; you just want to win and if you don't you sulk. Being a fan means supporting your team no matter if they are good times or bad times.

It's still too early to say that we lost everything. Actually that's quite stupid really. In these past two years Juventus have always been behind at this point of the season, and although our defence is leaking many goals, we still have more points than we ever had under Lippi at this point of the season.

If you guys side with juve just for the trophies and wins then start siding with whoever wins the league or CL you ungrateful gits. Juventus has treated you too well in these past years.

Cos people over here seem to like to bandage their heads before they get injured!

If you guys really have to complain, do it at the end of the season not saying that we are dead and buried before we are out of any competition.

Milan last season were having a terrible second round and they got as many points as relegation zone teams, yet they still won the CL. Just like Milan last year, Juve have shown their best side in Europe.
