Maybe someone has a better memory - was Nedved this weak in his first season too? He was disappointing by those standards, today we have lower ones. But I don't remember anyone calling him Nedflop, like Flopmeiners.
No but he was amazing for his National team (helped them get to the Euro 96 final) and had proven himself at Lazio. His talent was never in doubt.

Koop has never shown anything close to being as great as pre Juve Nedved.

Nedved was only bad for the first part of the first season, he was quite good second half - he hit 4G15A in the end. In december he was already a decent player for us looking at his stats, Koop aint all that.

Is Koop really this bad or is Motta and JJ to blame?
It's entirely Motta's fault.

Do you guys remember when Nedved arrived at Juventus? His first season was really bad, because the "jump" from playing between Lazio to Juventus cost him a lot.

Koop is experiencing exactly the same thing, even more difficult.

Koop is in his first season in a big team, with a new coach, with a new formation and in a new position and Motta, instead of helping him in this transition, has rather made it worse for the player.

Motta, being a coach with little experience, has tried to give "confidence" to Koop by not wanting to replace him, by going to the press to say that Koop is "irreplaceable" and even more so by giving him the captain's armband and all these things instead. To give the player confidence, he has ended up putting much more pressure on him, and Koop has not been able to handle this pressure.

An experienced coach would have noticed this situation and would have reduced the pressure on the player by leaving him on the wing for a few games, or using him from the bench.

Motta trying to "help" Koop has rather harmed him, brind down the pressure for him, sit him for a couple of games or use him from the bench, its not like we dont have options to play in his place, Motta needs to understand this and when he does he will help Koop and then probably we will see the player we want.

The question is which player offers more upside at a lower cost basis.

The Epstein system player or the YN?
We're stuck with the 60 million Euro Dutch traffic cone, so we must try to utilize him as best as we can. I think Thiahore Morta is to blame for that, refusing to deploy him where he should/could ostensibly give his best.

Is there any way we can re-Koop some of the transfer money we used on him by filing a lawsuit against Bergamo Calcio under the guise of counterfeiting or sporting fraud? They sold him to us under the premise that he is a #10 attacking midfielder. Clearly he is not. Maybe we can get our competent Belgian law firm involved and have @Seven lead the case.
