    Why is a film good?
    why is fictional book good??

    its the same thing
At least with a film, you dont vegitate everday for an hour to follow the series and watch the same recycled shite over and over.

I browse for all news except sports news.

I watch the History Channel a lot.

I don't watch movies on television, I feel it is a waste of time. I prefer to buy or download them and watch when I feel like.

I try my possble best not to miss The Weakest Link (work has made that very difficult), and I don't miss Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

I watch football, lots of football.

How so would you say im becoming more philisophical?

    Good on you.

I know a guy who watches TV like 2 hours everyday, and he has absolutely no personality. He is like watching the television itself, he makes these negative/sarcastic comments the whole time. He is like black adder, but picture how it would be to have him around you making these jokes the whole time.
I do a lot of sarcastic jokes/comments, I dont think it has anything to do with TV.

Trust me on this, its like listened to the ' Big Book of Chandler's used and unfunny jokes'.

Almost EVERYTHING he says is sarcasm, and scronfull at that. He wont miss an oppurtunity to use it.

If he doesnt say something sarcastic, its negative.

Television is over-rated IMO, and IMO also, part of 1984 is coming true with CNN et al.
Very nicely put Chxta. Media is an extremely powerful weapon.

    Movie. Here's a summary:

Sam Baily, upset over losing his job, takes a natural history museum hostage. Max Brackett, journalist, is in the museum when this occurs, and gets the scoop. The story spreads nation wide, and soon it is all anyone talks about. The story itself is the news, not the reason why or the real people behind it.
The point is this, nowadays the media are not interested in anything else but getting the story. Stories in our highly commercialized world are meant for sale, so the media are no longer in pursuit of the truth per se, but the story that will catch the audience, and translate to higer ratings.

Switching Channels from 1988 also implies that, although more subtly. In that movie, the press weren't interested in whether Ike died, but in their ratings.

Alot of films/series have disguised messages in them. Musicians too. South Park, for example, is very underated in this aspect and has alot of messages which hides behind some childish humour.

Fight Club is also an awesome movie. Seen that?

yeah, I guess German television is really stupid and idiotic. However, I enjoy watching TV and movies. If I wouldn't watch TV, I would have never seen movies like "The Godfather" (my favourite movie of all time) or "The big Lebowski". Dan, please don't tell me you don't know the godfather?
