Ok, 2004 is almost over... time to summarize.

Among many many others, here are my runners-up for this year:

    ATB - I don't wanna stop
    DJ Sammy - Rise Again
DJ Yanni - Won't foget these days
Time Travellers - Those were the days
Elles - From Dark to Light
    Amiel - Lovesong
    Armin v Buren & Airwave - Slipstream

#6: Maria Nayler - "Naked and Sacred". Last time I heard from her was "One and One" with Robert Miles. I don't know if she's back with good music, but this is a cool tune in the same "dream house" style.

#5: Talla 2XC - "The Air that I breate". I have a great deal of respect for her. She is one of the few which releases at least one good song every year.

#4: DJ Tiesto - "Just Be". The best hard trance tune I have been exposed to this year. I am not too big of a Tieso fan, but this track is totally awesome, with a classic mix of violen and hard beat. Would've been higher on my list thought if it had some vocals in it. But still, I started to think that I am moving away from classic/hard trance... but only until I heard "Just Be".

#3: Sven Van Krachten - "Let Love decide". This vocal trance tune, released in June, has not been featured in too many compilations this year. And this Sven Krachten guy is totally unknown to me. But the tune is exteremely effective and energizing.

    #2: Shapeshifters - "Lola's Theme".
Every year I have at least mainstream dance/house among my favorites. This time around it's the Shapelifters with a totally awesome top 40 tune, released in July. I have actually heard it on the radio here in Albany, which is very surprising. Great rythm and excellent job on this ultimate club song.

#1: Top song of the year goes to Accuface with "Your Destination", released in September. Truely fascinating uplift vocal trance tune. Makes you listen to it over, and over, and over again. Awesome mix of female vocals and great rythm. Reminds me of the great times when trance music in its current shape was slowly coming into existence in 1998 and 1999.

Agree....absolute winner of the year......I like "Vocal radio edit" version.

Nice list Elnur, unfourtunately I am not aquinted with a few of your top 6. BTW, DJ Tiesto's Just Be song has got vocals in it. But the album is also called Just Be, so you might like a track on the album and thought it was called just be.

Anyways, picking a top 10 is hard, but I'll give a list in no specific order of some of my favourites of this year:

Endre - I Kill For You (Probspot Remix)
    Probspot - Foreplay
Above & Beyond feat Zoe Johnston - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
    Airwave - Lady Blue
    Solid Globe - Sahara
Kyau Vs Albert - Velvet Morning (Aalto Remix)
    Super 8 - Alba
Oceanlab - Satellite (Original Above And Beyond Remix)
Armin Van Buuren - Burned With Desire (Rising Star Remix)
Tilt - The World Doesn't Know
Ridgewalkers Feat El - Find (Andy Moor Remix)
Deepsky Feat Jes - Talk Like A Stranger (Markus Schulz Return To Coldharbour Mix)
Mirco De Govia - Voller Sterne (Super 8 Remix)
    Tiesto - Adaigo For Strings
Faithless - Mass Destruction (Single Version)
Lange Feat Kirsty Hawkshaw - Sincere For You
    Filterheadz - Yimanya
Andain - Here is the House
Sarah McLachlan - World on Fire (Junkie XL Club Mix)
Josh Gabriel - Alive (Original Mix)
    Motorcycle - Imagination (Acoustic Version)
Kyau vs. Albert - Made Of Sun
Ian Brown - F.E.A.R. (Unkle Mix)
    Interstate - I Found U
Young Parisians feat. Ben Lost - Jump The Next Train
Spooky - Belong (Sasha's Involver Mix)
White Room - The White Room
    Way out West - Killa
Way out West - Dont Forget Me
    Max Graham - Gone
    ..........

And I'll stop. I know there are more. My top 5 listened to tunes are as follows (these are the tunes I've pumped and danced non-stop to). In no particular order:

    Solid Globe - Sahara
    Way out West - Killa
    Filterheadz - Yimanya
Above & Beyond feat Zoe Johnston - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
    Probspot - Foreplay

And now for the top albums of the year:

    Top 3 Artist albums:
    1. Sasha - Involver
    2. Way out West - Don't Look Now
    3. Tiesto - Just Be

    Top 3 Compilations:
    1. Armin van Buuren - Universal Religion 2004
    2. Gabriel & Dresden - Bloom
    3. Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance 2004

    Other notable compilations:
Ferry Corsten - Dance Valley 2004
    James Holden - Balance 005
James Zabiela - Renaissance Presents - Alive
    Paul Oakenfold - Creamfields 2004
    Scott Bond - Ahead\
    Above & Beyond - Anjunabeats - Volume 2

You're right... I never really paid attention to the track name. :D
The one I was talking about is "Adagio For Strings" I think it's track 10 in the album.

About your list- I am not familiar with 70% of the stuff! So... I'll hit the p2p right away! ;)

That's the beauty of non-commercial music. There is so much stuff out there which you don't know about. And people share information about good tunes.

It's awesome! Much better than turning on the radio and listening to the same commercial crap over and over again.

Good dance tracks were few this year!

    On top of my head:

    Trancescape - Producelast
Ron Van Den Beuken - Overdrive
    DJ Furax - Big Orgus
    Regi feat. Trancelucent - Lonely
The Prodigy - Get Up Get Off
    The Prodigy - Girls
    Anna Vissi - Eisai
Benassi Brothers - Love Is Gonna Save Us
Benassi Brothers - Hit My Heart
    DJ Tiësto - Just Be
DJ Tiësto - Love Comes Again
DJ Kicken - Ain't No Part Like An Alcoholic Party :D
    Junior Jack - Stupidisco
    Martin Solveig - Rocking Music
Narcotic Thrust - I Like It
    The Freestylers - Push Up
    Plummet - Cherish the Day
    ATB - Marrakech
    Jordan & Baker - Explode
    Rune - Calabria

I also nominate that fantastic house tune whose refrain goes something like this:
"Don't ask me what I smoke
    I don't know
But I drink to go drunk"
Think of a sensual female voice singing these languorously. I'm not sure but it could be by either Martin Solveig or Antoine Clamaran.

    Two things:

    1. Here is tranceaddict.com's track of the year voting results site:
    http://www.hubmusic.net/
BTW, tranceaddict is one of the biggest trance community sites so have fun looking at those results. I don't agree with some of them (ie Whiteroom as number 1, that's not happening in my books) .

    AND

    http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html

Check that 'guide to electronic music' out. It's humourous and makes fun of some genres, but its good to hear samples of the various styles.

is anyone here is a house dj or bedroom dj
I mess around on Traktor, but I've yet to buy some decks.

Elnur: I haven't gotten any new compilations/albums recently, but some new stuff is coming out pretty damn soon. I'll let you guys know when a goood album is coming out. In fact, I think Tilt is releasing their artist album pretty soon, within this next month. Should be a good one. :)

    Ok dude...

A very intense semester has started, and I have very little time to download stuff and digest it.

Ok ok... I am lazy too...
