@ IlDivinCodino , just a question , do you dislike electro or electronic music in general ?
Oh dont get me wrong. I respect certain DJs like for instance Slipknot has some awesome turntable skills. So basically if you interpret those as electronic music then no, i dont hate electronic music in general. For instance a keyboard is electronic. Keyboardists make good music. I just find it difficult to gain a liking towards lone DJs with sound engineering knowledge mixing up some sounds and hit multi platinum statuses. If there's someone i least hate that would have to be Tiesto so lets use his music as an example. Trance...
It definitely seems to rock the floor, people are bouncing and having fun.
But its lacking depth and any real dynamics or emotional content IMO. Works well for a crowd of drunk / coked up people ... Guess its kind of a sign of the times.
Perhaps i started off the ground a little too harsh by saying it is shit. However what i get from what we're hearing today is a mixture of electro elements plus acid house - 303's and 909's running rampid imo.
You get a droned out vox from some chic who's done too much heroin or k, get her to "sing" about how her lover fucker her in the backseat of an eqyptian cab and got her pregnant and how she hates life and presto - you have an "electro" track.
And seriously 90% of them are more or less the same.
Van Halen and RATM were amongst the biggest rockbands during their active period. Underrated how?
Those "messages" were sent about 20 years before RATM by - guess who - punk bands.
What can Tom Morello pull off on a guitar?
Van Halen is definitely an underrated guitarist. Compare him to Kurt Cobain or even today's John Frusciante. Perhaps not in America seeing that I wouldn't know as much. However nationwide I swear you would be lucky to have half out of 10 men knowing who he is. Try comparing a solo of Stairway to Heaven and Van Halen's Eruption and you'll know what i'm talking about.
RATM was not close to be amongst the biggest rockbands during their active period. And again I need to emphasize on the word nationwide. Not just talking about America or perhaps the UK. Those days people listen to Incubus, Nirvana, Creed, Oasis, Smashing Pumpkins just to name a few. The least RATM should have stood would be somewhere with these bands unfortunately what we get is nobody knew who the hell was Tom Morello.
Tom Morello made famous his trademark guitar riffs and a highly unusual solo that sounds more like a turntable than a guitar by making use of the toggle switch and rubbing his hand along the strings parallel to the neck of the guitar.
You get to do it in Guitar Hero 3.
20 years before RATM those messages? For your information punk rock were brought into main stream by Greenday. So 20 years before RATM i swear i have no idea what the fuck is punk rock. And what i know is Blink 182 cant stop singing about fucking a dog and Simple Plan are just some kids who cant stop whining about their women.
