I think he meant childish, had he still been thought of as French we would have understood him better
    I know that's what he meant.. :D

but him being Mr. Frenchie and all, we gotta have a bit of fun with him, right? ;)

Besides.. since when was being nationalistic childish? Were Hitler, Mussolini, and Winston Churchill childish?

actually i too believe that nationalism is ridiculous, how can one be proud of something they had absolutely no control over. on the other hand, enjoying aspects of culture and physical beauty is not nationalism...
easy.. they just are.. ;) I don't know how to explain it, but I'm proud of being a Bahraini, even if I can't change it..

and maybe I took this whole thing into a bit of an extreme (nationalism), but ce' la vee' as the French say.. :p

(yes, I know that's not the correct spelling..)

I do not agree at all.
That does not mean that I don´t respect it is that way for you.
We all have our history or/and different ways of seeing things.

You can hardly say that you yourself is coming from the place your parents coming from. You are you and they are they.

We can actually take Zlatan as an example.
His mother and father comes from Bosnia and Croatia. So in that case is he Bosnian or Croatian? Second he is borne in Sweden. Raised in Sweden. He grew up with Swedish friends in a Swedish school. But he still isn’t a Swede?

For some roots and belonging are much more important than to others. Most do to the history and the way you have to defend the different identities. As in Norway the flag means a lot an in Sweden it does not mean that much. Only because of the 2nd world war were Norway was occupied and Sweden was not. That does not mean that Swedes are less proud of their country.

As myself. My mother moved together with an Italian when I was 5, Alberto. He raised me and I went to Italy every year, learned the language and got two brothers with him as a father. I feel more Italian than Swedish, still there is not a centiliter of Italian blood in my vanes. Can you explain that? On the other hand my family emigrated to Sweden from Belgium in the 16th century, speaking French. I don’t feel French or as I belong in Belgium…

ye alright am sorry i should ve said that was my opinion.. we all do have different ways of seeing things.. so where are you from anyway .. wht would you say ur nationality is from the many countries you mentioned.

ps i mean person getting another countries passport and believes tht hes from there forgetting about where he originated from you from ur nick it says sweden/italy so ur half or say for example u r italian but got the swedish passport after living there for a while .. ur not mentioning tht ur swedish ur saying ur half swedish half italian u dont just ignore were u actually from even if u lived outside all your life.

wht isnt good is saying ur italian even though the women who brought u to this world is swedish and you look like a swede.. so saying italian / swede is alright .. but wht upsets me is if you say oh i am italian.... bcoz i kno some people they tell me they american and i kno they are egyptians like me and i tell them u look egyptian you talk egyptian ur parents are egyptian infact living there right now .... and he ll be like i dont care i hav the american passport so i am american am not egyptian .. that is just sick

    I´m Swedish, 100%.
That’s what I answer people and that is what I am.

    But…
I feel more like an Italian. I embrace their way of living and I look Italian.
I would prefer to live in Piemonte…
