I'm all for Juventus playing with the trident and having more of an attacking approach to the game. I believe it will be a nice change from the hapless and horrid Capello tactics that put people to sleep.

Hopefully we will become a posession side under Ranieri that almost always has greater than 55% of the posession in matches. I think with the signings of Tiago and Almiron we can see that we want our midfielders to be able to hold posession and dictate the pace of play instead of just going through the same old lethargic motions seen with two destroyers such as Emerson and Vieira in central midfield. Sheesh. What boring football that was.

Posession football with creative players in midfield is the way to go in my opinion.
Yes, yes, & more yes!!!

--------------------------------------Buffon---------------------------------

--------Zebina----------Militto--------------Barzagli-------------Chielleni

-----------------Almiron------------Tiago--------------Nedved-----------

-------------Iaquinta----------------------------------------Del Piero-----

---------------------------------------Trez----------------------------------

I think this will be our formation, unless we see some good right winger coming, or some new signing that would be better.
Our CB's are biggest priority comsidering we covered the midfield positions.

Almiron / Tiago
(Tacchinardi) / (Nocerino)

Camoranesi / Nasri / Nedved
(Marchionni) / (Del Piero) / (Palladino)

Huntellar
(Iaquinta)

4-5-1 without Trezeguet
4-3-3 without Camoranesi

Are you assuming Nedved will retire? os otherwise I would start him or he could be the left winger you mention.

I think Camo will leave and so would look to play either Iaquinta or Palladino instead.

Clearly the central defence requires strengthening but it is unclear if Grygera will be a better bet at RB than Zebina.
Ya i am assuming he will,i think he will if goal.com articles are anything to go by.If he doesnt retire i think he could be the left winger.

From what i've seen,Palladino isnt very comfortable playing on the right, even if he is a right footed player.IMO he should be DP's understudy.

I think Grygera is a better RB than Zebina,Bruckner plays him RB sometimes in the Czech NT and from what i've seen of him he's clearly a better option than Zebina.

As a general rule I rate Grygera higher than Zebina too. However Zebina has the Serie A experience so I would probably play Zebina to begin with and ease Grygera in slowly.

Grygera is a good RB, but not a good CB. Starting Zebina and then easing Grygera in to RB will most likely be the case. Either way, we will see Grygera manning the RB position for the bulk of the season.

I don't think Camoranesi will leave. If the board is smart they will keep him because he can be functional in multiple positions and is a returning star, which is something we need. The more new players we throw into the starting lineup, the longer it will take the team to gel.

It appears that Ranieri is going to change the shape of the team and this will also take time to mold our current players into. Especially our older players who have been so fluent in our old style of play. I don't like Ranieri, or his tactics, but I can't say that he isn't building the team his way, which is what a coach should do. However, I would much rather like to see DD or Lippi at the helm. Ranieri can't win the big ones.

I have one question, since I wasn't following this thread do you guy really think Juve could play 4-3-3 formation ??? Cuz I don't beacuse of many reasons and I will say some of them... First one is midfield cuz I don't see how we gonna play our mid with so many of the competing in that place. Neddy will probably play in mid so as Camo if he stays, which means there is left only one available space and we have players like Tiago, Almirion, Zanetti, Nocerino, Marichiso... Also that mid would lack some defending too... Another problem is attack where I see Trez as a striker and Iaquinta and Alex as a support strikers, and there is no problem at that. But the problem is at defending too. We all know Trez is pretty much useless when it comes to defending and Alex have no pace to and strenght to run up & down, which means only Iaquinta is left, and all theese things will leave us very opened to opponents attacks.

Valid concerns but I think either Camo or Nedved may be used as a forward which would help with both the defending and the number of people competing for a midfield place.

my concern is that if we do play 4 3 3 can Tiago handle the DMF role as Almiron and Nedved will be the creative influences...and Grygera should be RB he is naturally better than Zebina at that position...just an idea but should Zebina be given a chance as CB next season??? that was where he performed very well for Roma and also why he got his solitary France call-up.

I think we need Zanetti or Tacchi in midfield next season, or someone who is better defensively cos I worry the midfield could be overpowered otherwise.

Grygera is a better RB than Zebina but I wouldn't be keen to see the latter at CB where more of his mistakes will be punished. I would sooner play Chiellini CB than Zebina even if the defence needed to be shuffled around a bit to achieve this.

Ideally Grygera-Barzagli-Milito-Chiellini

Otherwise Grygera-Milito-Chiellini-Molinaro
