nasri will not join us
and i dont like criscito playing left back so swap him with legro or boum and molinaro will be chiellini's understudy
I would play like this

Chiellini is a real fighter. A hard tackling defender and I think he would be a great CB next to the leader of the defense....Milito
The Zebina-Camoranesi tandem schould work as usual on the right wing, on the left wing we have Molinaro, who should be a technical upgarde to Chiellini and Balzaretti, as those two are maybe players, who show passion and heart on the field, but can't dribble past an opponent. Del Piero and Nedved should link up with Molinaro on the left, still both should have the freedom to move around.
Center Mid says it all. Tiago as a box to box player, as a the one, who delivers the ball to the flanks or to Nedved or Del Piero and Zanetti should play the ball wining part of the game.

Its hard to say what the best formation is with all the uncertainty around Nedved,Trez and Camo.But i'll give my opinion based on the current squad.
IMO a 4-3-3 would be the way to go.Cantral defence defenitly needs some additions.The two fullback positions are filled IMO.Grygera,Zebina and Sali on the right,Molinaro and Chielleni on the left.The team would be playing a possesion based game..with the creativity being provided by Tiago and Almiron.Zanetti would be the holding mid infront of the defence.Sali and Chielleni would help provide some width.Trez will be the target man and Camoronesi and DP will take the flanks.

Are you assuming Nedved will retire? os otherwise I would start him or he could be the left winger you mention.
I think Camo will leave and so would look to play either Iaquinta or Palladino instead.
Clearly the central defence requires strengthening but it is unclear if Grygera will be a better bet at RB than Zebina.

If Camo stays, Nedved retires and Ranieri plays with a trident as he said he would.

Though as Andy said, with Almiron we'll get skill, but we'll lose Zanetti's destructive play.

I hope we can keep Giovinco and slowly integrate him into the team. He could become Nedved`s heir!
At Parma, he used a 4-3-3 with some rotation. He experimented a lot initially, but he sticked with a team when it played well. Interesting fact is that he benched many of the more reknown players (Morfeo, Grella, Bolaño and Gasbarroni), and created a very capable midfield in Parravicini, Cigarini and Dessena. So if anything doesn't work in a team, he will change it. Whether it's Del Piero or Palladino who will suffer because of that does not matter.
