Many teams that were posted recently would get ripped apart. I think we cannot play with an offensive midfielder as long as we play with 2 strikers and Nedved and Camo on the wings. One player alone cannot hold together the midfield alone, especially considering the fact that we will play with a brand new defense that needs time to work. We need at least a CM (neither particularlly offensive nor defensie) and a DM.

----------DEL PIERO---------HUNTELAAR--------

----------------VAN DER VAART------------------

---NEDVED-------------------SALIHAMIDZIC----

--------------------ALMIRON----------------------

--CHIELINI---MILITO---BARZAGLI---GRYGERA-

---------------------BUFFON------------------------

Yet another team laid out by someone that would get battered because the midfield is not tough enough.

Put Neddy in for Camo and swtich Iaquinta to the other side, then you might be on to something.

Buffon
Grygera Barzagli Milito Chiellini
Camoranesi VdVaart Marchionni Nedved
Del Piero
Trezeguet or Huntelaar
Man, with all fair and square, this midfield will get butchered in less than 15 minutes from the start of any match. You're placing an attacking winger in the centre midfield to partner another attacking midfielder. At least one destroyer is a must.

Exactly. Many people think that two wingers in a diamond midfield would work, as seen with a team such as AZ. But those people forget we play in Italy and having two wingers with such a formation would leave us stretched as hell. Especially if the player holding down the midfield centrally isn't even a defensive midfielder...

Agree balance is important if too offensive line up will hit by counter attacks esp down the flanks .I would like to add that ideal team tactic and ideal playing style
should be similar to lippi first era style where the pressing game created chances for us and headache for the oppostion but for this tactical sense and fitness are very important i have missed that style of play only perhaps evident in liverpool esp in champions league but they do a poorer style of it

chelsea plays sometimes that way too, but you'd need an essien

I don't know if Marchionni can play on the Central Mid - position, but why not give him a chance...
