No matter what happens, I think it is VERY important that Conte develops alternative tactics and formations for 3 key reasons:

1) The 352 works and could still be the first choice but in Europe you have to be able to adapt from time to time. Bonucci is an important element in the back 3 as he is usually the one to bring the ball forward - if he is out, then we could return to a back 4 for instance.

2) Tevez and Llorente bring different characteristics to the team (aside from their general level of goal scoring). Llorente because he gives us a much greater arial threat and a better ability to hold up the ball compared to our previous strikers. Tevez because....well he is Tevez and is hard working and very flexible tactically.

3) This is the KEY. We need a Pirlo alternative - we have been lucky with his fitness etc but going forward he should be rested more as he ages and kept fresh for the big matches. Pirlo has no direct replacement - not on Juve's squad and hardly in Europe for that matter (Verratti being a possible exception). Therefore, rather than trying to get Pogba to do what Pirlo does if Pirlo is not available, we need a formation that brings the best out of players like Pogba, Vidal and Marchisio together with the forwards etc.

Why does everyone assume we are getting Jovetic?!!?

I can't see it happening actually. Especially since Tevez, Vuci, and Gio are all support strikers. I can't see us getting a 4th one unless Vuci or Gio is sold. Gio is unlikely based on comments coming out of Turin and Vucinic? well who is interested in him? Perhaps on ManU showed some interest.

A good potential deal would be if Marotta works on a Vuci-Nani swap at around the same time he finalizes a deal for Jovetic

I just dont see Juve getting Jovetic or changing the formation as we dont really have natural wingers aside from Pepe

I realize the importance marchisio has had on juve and I am a fan boy but i really think pogba is going to push him to the limit in terms of playing time. I dnt see marchisio a guaranteed 11 anymore not if pogba continues that form through the u20 world cup and into pre season.

well thats my thinking. I really think pogba will start next year. I can see conte playing marchisio in te beginning but i dont think he will be able to keep pogba out of the starting 11 for very long at all.
