A left footed player on the left, whatever next? :D

Anyway chill, Dybala moves around a lot. Against Udinese he was all across that front line, he was the same for Palermo.

Remember this formation?:

----------------------Buffon---------------------

Thuram----Cannavaro----Kovac----Zambrotta

----------------------Vieira-----------------------

-----------Camoranesi--------Emerson----------

----------------------Nedved----------------------

--------------Trezeguet--------Del Piero-----------

Camoranesi played as a right sided midfielder. I cannot see why Cuadrado cannot play in a similar position. A lot of people don't like the idea because they believe its a DM position but it isn't

---------------------------Buffon------------------------

Lichsteiner-------Bonucci------Chiellini--------Sandro

--------------------------Marchisio----------------------

-----------Cauadrado------------------Pogba-----------

--------------------------Hernanes----------------------

------------------Dybala------------Morata-------------

I don't remember that team. It never happened..

Camo played on the right in Lippi's 4-3-1-2. Nedved never played behind the strikers for Capello. Emerson was never wide on the left.

Anyway....... I think Pereyra resembles Camo's playing style a lot more. He'd be well suited for that role.

Usually Camo played on the right and Nedved played on the left. If we played with a trequartista, and we rarely did, Del Piero often occupied that position. We played several games with a Zlatan-Del Piero-Trezeguet tridente that way.

Don't get too stuck up with precise formation though, consider what areas of the pitch the players cover and where they are comfortable and perform best. Numbers are static and does not offer value in explaining the dynamics of the game. Add dimensions such as with possession and without possession and consider what that means. I see a lot of discussion about what formation we prefer though sometimes where some player is best suited but very little about tactic and fine tuning. Lippi's 4-3-1-2 can easily be interpreted just as much as a 4-1-1-1-1-1-1 if one wants to with Tacchinardi anchoring the midfield behind pitbull and ballwinning Davids, with Zambrotta and latter on Camoranesi on the "right wing" with Nedved without possession backtracked as a LM while in possession roaming predominantly in the middle of the pitch to link up with ADP who roamed behind Trezegol. Over the years the players and roles changed as players changed in terms of name and in age. For example Camo moved more centrally towards the end, especially after we returned to Serie A. Just saying that the formation, whatever it is, is highly dynamic. As some have already noted the 3-5-2 can also look very differently depending on what wing-backs you have, if you play with a regista or trequartista (which affects the roles in front or behind the player), and the style of play if you play two Messis upfront or two Llorente... and so on...
I believe this type of discussion would allow us to scrutinize what we are aiming at achieving and better explain our differences in our interpretation of football in general (e.g. style preferences) and our players as well as what we lack. The latter would also allow us to focus on our current team rather than utopian ideas.
Sorry for long post.

Lets put it this way, if Allegri names a team sheet of: Buffon, Lichsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Cuadrado, Marchisio, Pogba, Hernanes, Dybala, Morata. People wouldn't know what formation it is because there are so many iterations of it based on those players. I think that is the one thing I like about the players he has at his disposal.
