Reuters say that the tanks are still in Daraa for the third consecutive day. Estimates of people killed there during the last two days say they are 35.

Preparations are ongoing to start a similar attack on Banyas city on the west.

For those who haven't watched this video that made millions of people cry, please watch but ONLY IF YOU CAN RESIST to some shocking images... DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE WATCHING INAPPROPRIATE THINGS.
It is shocking .I really don't know what to say after watching this video..

Agreed. There is a real diference between reading it in print and seeing these images.

I can't understand how the people responsible for this cannot sympathize. How could you see this and not be disturbed?

Not if their replacements are religious extremist fruitcakes.
They told us the same about Egypt and Tunisia. But neither the Muslim Brotherhood nor the Islamic Renaissance party are going to win any elections. It's all fabricated fears instilled by our leaders so that they'll get the Wests support.

Then again, even if we assume what you say is true, it really is debatable that Islamist parties would be any worse than Bashar or Gedaffi.

Like for eg. the ones who would suggest to put bunch of people in a small space and then torch them?
If you mean Fred's post above, you should differentiate between "bunch of people" that you mentioned and "Arab rulers" that he mentioned.

By the way, how could you conclude that Fred is a religious extremist?

Because they think the :gsol:fanatics:gsol: will take over and their sects will be in danger.

Just like what they predicted in Tunisia and Egypt.

The world would be a much better place if we just took the Arab rulers put them in a room and just burnt them all.
Don't forget the Pakistani leaders and the corrupt mullahs. Then we'll have a great big party :weee:

thats the answer andy, and not to mention the people would never let that happen.

there are more freedoms now, and you hear there religous group voice now. i personally dont like the tone they use but once again its partly bec we were never used to hearing that voice to be honest as it was always silenced. the good thing though is they come to power thru us or not and also they leave according to us so if they come they know they have 4 years after that bye bye next. i can safely tell u here in egypt they wont come to power bec people know there are chances things might be different not to mention a lot of people my self included believe religon does not mix with politics. yes sure the main laws or rules can be derived from religon def but to control or issue certain rules and leaves others out based on religion does not sit well in this part of the world.

Well I don't know if Fred is an extremist, but to suggestion to group and torch people in a confined space, whatever they have done would be a bit extreme don't you think?

And it is not in anyway a good thing to replace current arab rulers with people who would take such extreme actions (what I think Andy meant by saying extremists)
