I consider myself Armenian, because I speak Armenian and my friends and my family are Armenians. I am Syrian at the same time, cause I lived most of my life here. I am probably the least nationalist in this forum, if you ask me something about Armenia, I can't answer, I don't even know who is the prime minister of Armenia or which party rules. I am telling you these just that no one gets any wrong idea about the nationalism, you can tell, that I don't belong to any nation, I am a world citizen
it's not about Syria only, where ever I go and live, nothing will change, I won't have any nationalistic feelings, I feel Armenian because I was raised in Armenian speaking family and friends, it's my mother language, and not because I see Armenia above Syria or any other nation.
I am part of this country, my opinion, Rami's or Gaith's count in the end in this country and the rest of 20 Millions, any other person's opinion, who doesn't have to do anything with this country, doesn't count. I don't mean opinions exactly thou, but interfering is what I am talking about.
Best thing is to forget it, like you said it. Cause I can't accept when someone tells me that Syria's future shouldn't interest me, and I shouldn't have a word or voting for Syria!
