Well in a way erdogan have a similar ideology like ISIS but in a somewhat non violent way.
He's part of the Muslims brotherhood organization. I have many ex-Muslim brotherhood friends who said to me openly that the organization ultimate goal is to create the Khilafah one day in the future. They call it the "tamkeen" for those who know the meaning in Arabic. Which practically means they'll use Democrocy (in a democratic nations like Turkey, Indonesia, somewhat morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait and Jordan) to change laws in the constitution so that slowly but surly control the whole country and turn it into a fascist nations.
They won't say it openly to everyone but if you get pretty close to them they'll admit it.

That's scary. And it is scary that people like Fred, Rebel and Turk are supporting the future fascists Islamic nations. And it is scary that Russia, US and EU are only fueling the problem with their inadequate politics. I can see a new Cold War between the new Islamic states and the rest of the World for generations to come.

The only thing that is scary is how little you seem to understand middle eastern politics. I would actually say that my views are the complete opposite of fascism. Ffs I'm someone who admires Milton Friedman, Sowell, Hayek and co. I'm someone who dreams of a democratic middle east, with a free market economy and less reliance on government for everything from employment to subsidies. Anyone who has conversed with me for even a little knows those are my views. But you see me supporting Erdogan and you immediately put me in a box, just goes to how simplistic your outlook is on middle eastern politics is.

If someone makes you choose between two shaites you don't have to choose any one of them. I wouldn't support Hitler cause I support Palestinian independent state. You're kinda doing that by supporting a militant islamic autocrat who has close connections with fundamentalists and has delusional dreams about new Ottoman empire.

IS is a problem that can be rooted out if Turkey stops harboring them and buying their spOILs of war, and if we stop feeding Saudi arabia.
Having said that, im ashames our belgian goverment is still doing deals with them. Fucking hypocrits they are.

A Militant Islamic Autocrat?
How is he militant? is it because of his conflict with the Kurds? I'd beg to differ, would other Western States deal any differently towards militant insurgency groups?
Islamic? What does this mean? that he's a Muslim? His party is officially secular though.
Autocrat? Again, I'd like some further clarification. His party was democratically elected several times for over a decade now. Turkey is a country with a functioning constitution and free and fair elections.

I can't even take seriously a comparison between Assad and Erdogan.
Has he supported ISIS covertly over the past few years? Unfortunately he has, but Carter and Reagan from the US supported those same people in Afghanistan in the 80's.
If you are at all familiar with ISIS(and Al Qaeda before them) ideology, you'd know that they see Erdogan and his ilk as nothing but another secular infidel who should be decapitated. But right now, they obviously have other priorities. Erdogan doesn't support ISIS ideologically, it's lazy to think that that's even remotely possible. It just happens to be that some of their interests aligned at some point, exactly like the American Administration in the 80's.

We all saw what happened to Yugoslavia. But on the other hand this question is debatable, because we can see the cases of Ireland and Spain.

3. His last attempt to create a presidential republic failed by very little and he is more and more going in an autocratic direction, if you are turning a blind eye - it's your problem and your agenda.

First of all Salafis are a huge group with differing views. However the traditional Salafis: Erdogan hates them and they hate him even more. I really doubt you know what you're talking about here. That is not even in doubt, Erdogan supports factions in the Middle East that are directly opposed to the traditional Salafis.
