Always nice to win a trophy. Even nicer to beat these cocksuckers in a game which always means so much to them.

We had a few 50/50 details that went our way in the game, but Tek's saves were vital. I'm pretty convinced that if we'd conceded that header and gone down we'd have lost @Salvo The team is a bit fragile, which you can see by the relief in the celebrations.

Cuadrado shows how much we miss him or a player like him. Even Berna played pretty well, as did the midfield for parts.

And the dirty penalty that Napoli won, which they didn’t convert, is defo a karma slap in the face to de laurentis.

However, let’s not get carried away with this cup win. There is a high chance that we will have to replay this match if de laurentis says that he saw ‘a coach of Juve sneezed during the game and caused all the Napoli player to be mentally concerned about covid spread and as such, was unable to perform on a fair level to compete’

It wasn't a dominant game and it could've gone either way, as Insigne missing the penalty plus those two magical saves by Tek really changed the game, but the performance was still infinitely better than on the weekend and it's great to see Pirlo win his first piece of silverware as a manager. It was a great game from Pirlo too, because you could see the structure of the team defensively drastically improved, we didn't allow them to strike on the counters as effectively as Inter did even though Napoli are built for this and we kept Napoli on the ropes for long stretches, even though we could've been more clinical in the final third.

Ah yes, that's Koulibaly incident is what I was thinking of in the live thread... somehow i thought it happened against Chiellini last season.

Both that and the McKennie penalty were bullshit
I never think they should be penalties. It's almost a free goal from nothing, simply by being aware and clever. But really the attacking player is not making any attempt to play the ball, they are just trying to get in front of the player as they swing their leg so they can create contract.

It's a pretty sly thing to do but some people would applaud it. For me the action is not worthy of a goal. It's not even a mistake from the defensive player, they are in the motion of kicking the ball and someone jumps in the way so they can get a touch and fall over.

Also, the other way around, if a striker is shooting the ball and a defender clips them as they are drawing back their leg to shoot, thus ruining the shot, that is never given as a free kick or penalty.

If I'm chopping wood and you put your hand on the block as I'm about to swing, is it my fault you lost your fingers?

Nah, it's a penalty, a player shall be aware of surroundings at all times.

That's impossible. Although you could say that they should dribble the ball out of the area or not take such a deliberate swing at the ball, use a short backlift, etc. It gets a bit ridiculous.

Yes, do whatever is necessary. Anyway these kinda fouls happen rarely. But when they do it's definitely a penalty and should be so.
