No new defenders ( not counting Mario) just seems crazy to me. Especially considering how desperate we were to sign one last January.

We are being foolish to be so dependent on Bremer again.
desperate because we lost Bremer and Cabal. Bremer is back and Cabal too after the NT pause.

I think it was a barely above average mercato with the d-day signings. Concerns over the defence are a bit overblown IMHO, because unlike most, I think Kelly is actually improving, and just as important, with the chaps coming back from injury, it's almost like new signings.

He started slow, fooling everyone into a false sense of calm. Missed one, missed another, looked half asleep and desperate. And then, when the rest were gasping like fish out of water, he emerged. Some say it was tactical genius. Others claim it was pure witchcraft. I think that there is no other explanation except that he hacked the passwords of every football agent alive.

Very underwhelming Mercato. Failing to ship out Vlahovic has been incredibly costly. The defence is a few injuries away from a catastrophe.

When you see inter sign Akanji on what looks like a very reasonable deal it highlights just how poor our moves have been. Zhegrova looks like a good player but a season full of injuries isn’t exactly the foundations we need to build on…
