We still have a half midfield and Locatelli is still in the team then this is definitely a failing grade.

We spent the summer trying to sell Weah and negotiate with PSG. In the end I am not sure that we bought good players or not, they reek panic buys but we'll see.

I'm giving a 6 simply cause we shipped Douglas Luiz and replaced with none.
We have 5+1 midfielders. The +1 Azic
Locatelli
Thuram
Koop
McKennie
Miretti

We either play a 2man mid or we're very lacking.
Also Koop was shit last season.
Locatelli meh-decent
Thuram the only one having a really good season. But still nothing worthy
McKennie good season but as a winger rather than midfielder.
Miretti let's see. He had a good spell on loan last season.
Still we needed a seasoned mid since we decided to let Douglas go.

A very generous 5. No upgrade in midfield which was necessary. Failed to convince Conte to return which would've been bigger than any signing we could make.

I'm not convinced we have upgraded at WB. Time will tell.

We are one Bremer injury away from having a catastrophic defense.

Attack has been upgraded. We have more options now but we'll have to wait and see how Tutor can put all the pieces together and make the best out of the available options.

In terms of sales, did not buy anyone from Serie A as pointed out. Did not sell Vlahovic to a direct Serie A rival. Got rid of two of the biggest flops of last season.

Tutor tactics, Poop rediscovering his Atalanta form, a healthy Bremer and David/Vlahovic /Openda doing the bulk of the scoring will be key to having a successful season. These are all big if's.

You seem fixated on the narrative of number of goals conceded = the strength of the defence.

Context is important. Having watched the dross we played last season, my brain and eyes told me that we conceded very few goals because we played hopeless sterile possession football, tapping it side to side. Most opposition teams were happy to just sit back and watch it under minimal threat of conceding a goal whilst the scoreline often being level or within 1 goal, as evidenced by the number of drawn games last season.
They conceded fewer goals under Tudor when they played more aggressive though.

Last summer I was so hyped I have it a 9.5 only to balance in the winter with a -10 or something like that.
I'll give this a 4.5 as we are really risking it assuming Bremer will carry us (I hope he does). Defence was neglected. Not to mention giving Loca the captainship instead of shipping him off.
This season will depend on jmedical and you know how that goes.

Me reading Jj fans rate the mercato

IMG_0976.jpeg
99.9% of football fans who comment under social media posts like Facebook and Instagram are dumb retards or bots.

It's all Ronaldo this or Messi that...

I regards to JJ so many are getting over excited and calling it. 10/10 Mercator because of two last minute signings lol

This forum is the only place online where you can have a relatively normal discussion about football and that's saying something

It's a 6 for me. I feel like Comolli has done the bare minimum to guarantee 4th place.

Regista/creative midfielder has not been addressed. This is the most important position on the pitch. LCB position also has not been addressed.

Overall a very "safe" mercato but not one that excites me.

It was fine. I thought "less is more" in regards to this summer. We didn't need another complete squad overhaul after last summer. It's time for some of these players to step up.

I would have liked to sell Vlahovic and bring in Kolo Muani, rather than Vlahovic playing out the final year of his contract & leaving for free, but I don't think it'll actually be a downgrade in terms of on field performance.
