I have a problem with Nico staying, he'll effectively be rotating at RWB with Joao Mario
I don't. I think he is missused and tbh he is more suited to more counter attacking team but that also means that Tudor would missuse him. Keeping him and rotating him for RWB in such a long season with so many competitions instead of keeping Kelly and selling McDonalds for me personally is a win..

Yeah but we're not suddenly going to change a system just to suit Nico if it doesn't suit the majority of the other players, Kelly as it stands is our only left footed CB, yes I think he's diabolically bad most of the time but he's actually the only one comfortable enough to play on the left side of a back 3 probably along with Djalo.
I really wouldn't be surprised if Kelly stays.

Thats why I said that Tudor will also missuse him but even missused I would rather have him than lets say Vlaho and Arthur and McDonalds.

But that's just my opinion....

Zhegrova is sick but i cant see them buying both him and o’riley, its probably one or the other. Considering his contract expires next year, hed be cheaper. But hes also not as versatile. Hes another chico, positionally.

Nah results wise, nothing much to write home about, it was all about getting my first taste of international tournament experience.

I still maintain that we won't sign a top striker till we resolve the Vlahovic issue which I said would drag on for quite some time, even then I don't think Osimhen will come.
Zhegrova is the back up idea to Chico/Sancho, there was some rumour of Yilmaz on the shortlist too.
We will sign a pure defensive/physical midfielder of some kind to allow Thuram to flourish, I suspect this will be a somewhat cheap signing rather than going big on Florentino Luis of Benfica, especially as we still need to shift Luiz and Mckennie is on the market now.

Defence is a tough one, we need a left footed CB - Balerdi, not happening, Laporte fits the bill to a degree, Hancko again not going to happen unless we sell someone, problem is nobody is remotely serious about taking Kelly off our hands and he seemingly doesn't want to leave either.
There is still hope...

Melvin Bard could be on his way out of Nice and has emerged as an option for Juventus. The versatile defender is capable of playing on the left side of a back three, as a full-back, or as a wing-back. Atalanta also appreciate him, though they are currently focused on other targets.

Mirko Di Natale

who?

All I read is Oriley and K.M.
So we arent serious about a better defender? Do we really think Kelly or Rugani are good enough to start?
No I say this objectively we have too many right footed CBs currently Gatti and Kalulu are competing for the same spot, Rugani and Bremer and then basically Kelly for LCB most probably competing with Djalo. You could even make a case for Savona at CB too. We would need to sell at least 2 of Kelly, Djalo, Rugani and Savona for the club to invest in defence.

Yes I dont like it but thats the reality.

Does the EPL want Kelly back though...
Djalo and Rugani will definitely not leave so Savona could be an option if there is anyone interested..
In any case even if we manage to sell two Im afraid we will be looking into the Thiaws of the world rather than add another top CB. I really think we have screwed it with Leoni.
At this point and how the market is going I think the best we can get is probably Scalvini but he will cost as much as Leoni if not even more..

My personal opinion is that nobody is seriously interested enough to bid for Kelly. Sunderland certainly didn't look like they needed Kelly given how they dismantled West ham yesterday, and again similarly to Nico yesterday, Kelly started and played at least a half which suggests to me there is nothing serious or advanced at this stage. Again for Leoni I think he was one we could have invested for the future but he wouldnt solve our problem at LCB, I think Milan needed him more than us till they signed De Winter instead.
Scalvini is out of the question, injuries and Atalanta will still ask for alot, hes scared alot of clubs away this summer, I believe Newcastle were on his trail till they went for Thiaw.

Djalo was excluded from the squad yesterday for non injury reasons, I’d say he’s more likely to leave than stay.

bremer
gatti
kalulu
kelly
rugani
savona
cabal

Unless they sell Savona or someone miraculously comes for Kelly, I dont think another CB is arriving.
