Keeping Douglas for another year is better than buying O'Riley. Douglas was at least five times better than O'Riley in the Premier League. Just because he didn’t deliver in his first season doesn’t mean we should rush to sell him, new team, new league, personal issues, injuries… and on top of that, most players looked awful under Motta last season. It wouldn’t be a fair judgment. We’re acting more like an unprofessional club here.

Watched O'Rielly play today and from what I've seen he is just incredibly average and belongs at a club like Brighton.. Can't see him ever succeeding at a big club other than being a decent backup

Is no better than the likes of Bentancur or Miretti

Apparently it’s done, Romano says Douglas is moving to Nottingham on a permanent deal. If it’s over 30 million, I think we can go for Hjulmand.

I wouldn't trust either Koop or McKennie in a CM two. Miretti could maybe play that role but is a big risk and probably not good enough defensively in a two. I would not trust O'Reilly either.

I remember there were reports that Juve would go after Hjulmand if Douglas was sold. 60 million seems unlikely, but I think he could be bought for around 45 million.
I think we need a quality midfielder. Right now, we only have four midfielders, and the forms of McKennie and Koopmeiners are uncertain for this season. Miretti mostly plays behind the striker rather than as a central midfielder.

We have so many roles to fill, spending it all on 1 midfielder sounds silly, I think we're priced out on Hjulmand already, As I've posted in the past Sporting are not desperate to sell and 60 mill is his release clause.

Only mid 2 that works somehow is Thuram + Loca. All the other guys would be much better in a mid 3 and don't really fit in a mid 2 imo...

There were rumours we thought we could lower the price and they all ended when Sporting didn't want to lower their demands according to the rumours.
Miretti will play more advanced but he can also play as a CM. Every position double taken and an emergency option sounds safe enough for me. We have more pressing matters like CB imo...
McKennie's form uncertain? Why? He'll be playing for a new contract...
