Because they probably get a cut as well. Plus, I assume player gets their contract beforehand. In that sense I doubt they'd mind if their agents rips off some club. I think that happens regularly too.

Also players like Balotelli and co always find another club paying them millions for absolutely nothing - these agents lobby/force the clubs to sign their players or they won’t have a chance for the next promising player etc

For a team with as shambolic a defence as ours, we worryingly don't seem to be linked with many defenders.

There's Leoni but he doesn't look ready and seems like we'd leave him at Parma for a year. But there haven't been many others linked.

It's only worrying because of our fetish with using a back three and the fact that we spent 20M on an English Jihadi, so both self-inflicted wounds. Any club would just deploy a back four with what we have and call it a day. Kalulu, Gatti, Bremer, Veiga, Rugani, Savona is more than enough for CB. We should go after Leoni only because he's an outstanding talent and one of the very few out there in Italy nowadays.

Right about now I'm even thinking of keeping Rugani. He was never a world class defender for us, but he could provide some stability in defence.

In the second game of this world cup our defence looked really vulnerable at times.

Rugani - Bremer - Kalulu is much better then what we have now in the world cup IMO.
