Probably getting myself unnecessarily excited here, but buying Kostic in the end, shipping out Pellegrini and not replacing him leaves us with an even bigger problem at full back that can only be masked by playing 3-5-2 making us not need to field any, whilst also potentially placing Cuadrado and Kostic in their preferred roles.

Also explains why we are linked with Central strikers who can play as the front man or off the front man as opposed to any wide players.

The guy who can turn this market and this formation into a potential success is SMS, here’s hoping.
The 352 really does seem like the best option, at least until chiesa returns after which they can maybe try a 343 or something.

Danilo- his best season came under Pirlo when he was essentially a RCB and hes more of a CB in todays game than a RB.

Bonucci- always has been at his best in the center of a three back system

Bremer- was exclusively in a three man backline in Torino and has experience both central and on the left

Cuadrado and Kostic- at their best as RM/LMs with cover

And most importantly it gets Sandro off the fucking field. Thats the most important. Shit he may even be somewhat useful as a LCB

I expect us to challenge for the scudetto this year right to the end. We may not win it, but I expect us to be right there. Not winning it would be disappointing. Not being competitive for it would be another massive failure.
I'm on the fence about going that far. Even though we have improved we're still pretty unbalanced and thin. If we further improve the left with Depay and maybe even a surprise LB, I definitely expect to be close to 1st.

I think the loss of De Ligt is going to come back to bite us. Not because Bremer is terrible, but because overall the defense makes me nervous. Would have been a great opportunity to lock in our defense for years. Now we will probably have to compensate tactically which sucks and is more of the same.
I personally never felt secure with De Ligt there to begin with. No matter how good Bremer actually is, it's still going to take time for him to form a partnership with Bonucci or maybe even Gatti, so we'll concede some goals there no matter what.

I’ve never seen Bremer play as an LCB in a three man defense. This position is a different ball game since he will be closer to touch and is right footed. So I don’t think it will work. That’s why I don’t understand what we are trying to do here at all, including with Kostic.

The defense is too light for a back three and again Bremer and Bonucci will be fighting for that sweeper position and Sandro will be closer to goal.
This

How is it that we operate at a deficit in defensive depth. We gave Atalanta a handjob + Romero and they flipped him to Tici for 60m. We do the same with Merih and again we have yet to replenish. Now we lose Chielini, MDL (-2), Sign Bremer, Gatti (+2) but the quality we need to replace is still an issue on top of that. So once again we can march into the CL knockout stage with a chance that Rugani and Gatti could feature at CB. Brilliant planning by the club.

We need a left footed CB to be in the mix , especially if we going to play in a back 3. I can see Allegri will probably use Sandro there.

We are winning the Scudetto this year, what a bunch of pussyfans we got lately its unbelievable man… only whining and criticizing.. You are a supporter of Juve and your rivals are the shitty Inter who has noone to bring from the bench and Milan who last year made the impossible but this year they didn’t improve at all. So pretty much we are gonna fight till the end and I expect Milan and Inter to choke after winter.
It's Tuz man Prolly 80% of the people around here haven't touch a ball in their life but we are all experts

He started 27 games as a LCB in a three man backline in 2019/20, played primarily on the left in 20/21, and moved central this past season. This honestly might be the most pointless debate on this forum currently .
I don’t remember that but maybe he did. Anyways, he played in the center last year and was good and that’s why we bought him supposedly.

Agreed. Hard to say we'll be missing De Ligt when he rarely looked like the dominant CB we were promised (I believe he is one but he rarely showed it for us) and I cringed every time he was ran at because I feared the handball. He was a handball machine. I saw on twitter a stat that De Ligt had more handballs in his three years of Serie A than Chiellini's entire Serie A time with us. Just staggering to see put like that.

Yeah, was scatching my head when he said that since he was primarily left in a back three for basically 2 seasons straight before moving central.

Now there is an argument that his best season he was central (last year) but he still has a ton of LCB experience.

His true breakout really started in the second half of 20/21 when he was on the left. The point is people are worrying way too much about something thats most likely not even gonna be an issue this season. I'd be much more worried about the guy he's paired with.

De Ligt was appalling against Villareal. At fault for 3 of their goals.

We also gonna give up far less penalties without De Octoligt :snoop:

More rumors of a two year deal with Depay. Truly a win-win if the wages aren't awful. Anything below 6m and I think its a great deal for the short-term. Two year deal means it ends at the same time at Woj, Bonucci, Di Maria, Danilo, and Rugani.

Talk about clearing the wage bill.

I agree with everyone that say a back 3 is the way to go with Kostic and Cuads playing wingback with Danilo Bumnuci and Bremer cb's.
This way we can bench that walking disaster Sandro and soften the Bumnuci blow.
It looks like the best defensive setup.
We can try 4 3 3 against weaker opposition.

Oh, trust me, I’m not watching that dogshit football. I just don’t remember him playing on the left on the occasion I watched that dogshit team a few years ago.
